Question about the Sebulba's podracer

when Anakin get's caught on sebulba's right engine he breaks off it some how but why did sebulba's left engine fall off?

Probably because the thing he broke off of Sebulba's pod is what kept the left engine attached.

is it because of the electric chain that keeps the two pods attached together was malfunctioning?
