OK Judie dench started in goldeneye was it? as M. but if this film is a prequel how is se in it? i thought bond was shocked to see M was a woman in golden eye?

According to Casino Royale FAQ, this is separate from the past Bonds, so it doesn't matter if Bond has a female boss - lets just say when Bond met her in this timeline - Is different than when we saw Brosnan's Bond meeting her in GoldenEye.

Yeah, it does...In retrospect, I wish they would have done what they were planning on doing in DAD.

They were going to have Sean Connery make a cameo for the anniversary...And to explain this they were going to have "James Bond" be a code name...Which would explain all the different actors, and styles of acting James Bond has been through.

Are you kidding, that idea actually makes sense. Why would Hollywood listen to ideas that made sense?

That still would not have helped in the context of the plot. It is meant to be THE Bond's elevation to 00, not any old Bond.

The fact is, that none of this matters. Not in the slightest. There is very little attempt at genuine continuity between the Bond films. Bond films are a concept, not a continuous canon. Bond itself has become a mythology with many interpretations, like King Arthur.

So really, don't worry about it.
