No, the storyline was just completely shit. Bond getting married, come on.
But I hated the actor they casted as Bond too...

If Connery was in On Her Majesty's Secret Service it would have been the best bond movie.

Err no it wouldnt.Like Eis said,the storyline was complete shit.Not even Connery could have saved that movie from being crap.However IF Connery had done it,the fans would have been able to feel sorry for Bond at the end when his wife got gunned down and killed,heck I think if Moore had done that film they would have, but they couldnt because Lazenbys acting was so horrible in that movie.Thats why he only lasted one film and was not offered another one after that.

I liked the script of on her majesty secret service, but i think that this movie failed mainly because the terrible acting by george lazenby. With connery, surely it could be much better.

Bond getting married is kinda lame though. 😉

But i think that it if give some new and fresh style to the series. Its a little boring 20 movies of james bond being the playboy with hundred of different women. I think that in at least one movie, they tried to change a little the same story that we have seen in the another 19 movies( but it was innovative to a certain point, at the end, bond was free again).

Naw only a tiny bit better Bakerboy.The script was so atrocious that not even Connery cold have saved this crapfest movie.

I desagree here with you, mr parker. I think that the script of that movie was very innovative and original, and very interesting. But the choice of George Lazenby as Bond destroyed the scritpt and the movie, because he was so bad and his Bond was so Uncharismatic and pathetic that the people wasnt releated to that bond, and his story and his relatioships witht the characters was boring and unteresting for the audience, so, the story and the movie suffers too much because that thing.

But the only thing that was innovative, original and interesting about it was that it was different in that he was getting married.the story itself is a snoozefest and boring.

Not only the marriage. The female character played by Diann rigg was complex and strong, different from another bond girls before this movie. The rest wasnt so innovative, right.

Yes, i got it long time before.

But you have to admit something, it was at least innovative in a certain way. The bonds that i think that are innovative in some ways are the next ones:

Live and let die( bond vs the voodo)

moonraker( bond in the space)

on her majesty secret service( bond married and the stronger female character in the series, diana rigg)

Casino royale( bond before being the bond that we all know)

If Connery was in it, it would be better, but it would still suck hard. The movie has one or two good points in it, but that's about it.

No matter what though, the absolute worst part of that film is that repetitive X-Mas song that they play. Good lord that freakin thing is annoying!!
