I Promise

I promise I'm okay
And my smile is true
I promise I'm all right
And that I don't love you

I promise that these tears
Are only happy tears
I promise I'll forget everything
From the past three years

I promise that the new cuts
Are only make believe
I promise that it's not your name
Carved right above my knee

I promise that I won't cry
Missing you at night
I promise that I'll move on
And everything will be all right

I promise that my life won't change
Without you by my side
I promise that I won't ever
Consider suicide

I promise that I won't dream about you
After I fall asleep crying
I promise I won't give up
Or ever quit trying

I promise I'll stay strong
Even without you
I promise all of my promises
Are real and true

I promise that a promise
Is only a lie
Tied with pretty ribbons
Leaving us with no hope of ever getting by

A golden sand drifting in breeze;
A wound won’t be wiped away.
A sediment of love assembling in lies;
A blindfold detains my vision at bay.

A golden sand roaming through all ages,
Droplets of tears in lament delay
That preordained perdition.Sand
