yeah please do. 😄
Alright, don't mind if I do.
Raimi, it's just too late for us to forgive, I mean I completely understand that I am ranting and raving about things that shouldn't even be spoken of because the sheer thought of applying too much thought on this simple topic is enough to make my clothes fall off and make me grow a vagina in public, but things have to be said over the sake of pleasing demi-gods and serial killers bent on owning the world's first blood rusted go-cart.
However, here is my theory. I believe what Raimi did was an accident, or a mislead. Here's how; Raimi is beyond being a typical director, he's transcended to the pinnacle of artfag. Much like Tim Burton, he's created Spider-Man in a way that it's become poetic to him. Much like me shooting a movie of an elderly woman with one of her feet stuck in a bucket full of manure toppling about as she tries to struggle out of it. It's complete crap, however in my eyes it's a significant epitome of the cycle of life and death.
Some of you are probably stating that Spider-Man is a perfect example of art. He's a pop-culture icon, and known around the world, however, that just gives more reason for his fictional backstory to be fleshed out in a manner that best fits his adventures in the comics. All Raimi did was do what I have explained above, only with an artsy point of view. Not the best thing to do.
My second theory, is that he was given the job of directing the films out of sheer relief after a midnight long crunch session filled with asian food and conversations regarding family members by the folks at Sony and Marvel. Raimi came by in the morning, and just to get it out of the way, they agreed. Much like a stupid person at an important CEO job interview who's given a tattered trenchcoat and a piece of cardboard with the words "will do anything for food" and told to roam the streets in search of profit. He's been morphed into a hobo, and doesn't realize it because he's an absent minded failure and deemed unfit to lead a company. His existance would give a bad image to the company, so he is shunned.
As to how I came up with these theories is beyond my knowledge, however I hope they enlighten someone.
