Global warming may be serious, it may not. I'm no so pretentious as to believe that I can play a part in stopping it happening if it is true, and if it isn't...self-explanatory. I'm living life and anything serious won't happen in my lifetime, and being that I don't want children ever, I have nothing to fear.
However, I love the human arrogance of "Oh shit, how is the Earth going to cope! Oh no!". As if the Earth hasn't been through shit before we ended up on it. Granted, humans have done things that do damage, but I really think it's all massively out of proportion.

Anyone else notice how unnatural the weather is getting? I mean, there are the big things obviously, such as the out-of-season floods, super-hurricanes and earthquakes, but what about the stuff that just doesn't get advertised at all.Well, around here, we had a tornado, for the first time in a century I think. It touched down not to far (I live in Western Washington, by the way) from where I live - it was so dark and hail + rain was battering everything. It came and went in like... ten minutes. Anyone else have anything like this?
Ironically, both happened while the sun was shining merrily.
The weather here is slightly warmer this season too.
Originally posted by DarkC🤨 That's insane. We had another hailstorm hit a while back, and the temperature went from 90 degrees to 40 in two hours.
There's been two huge hailstorms hitting Calgary in the past two months, and we've never gotten those kind.Ironically, both happened while the sun was shining merrily.
The weather here is slightly warmer this season too.
Originally posted by DarkCThe rain was so thick here in the storm I mentioened earlier that I guess there was two crashes in the town closest to us, and that an already damaged window shattered on our neighbor's car.
The precipitation was so thick I could barely see the house across the street.Anyone caught out on the streets, I would not have been surprised if they were clubbed to death slowly if they failed to find cover.

it's not that hot yet here where I live, but the humidity is terrible it would be like 80 here and the humidity would be over 60% and it would feel like it is 90 instead. in a house with no air conditioning running and only box fans are used you can sweat all night just staying motionless.
Oh please, that's not that bad. 🙄 Try 101 degrees and 90% humidity.
Anyway, I haven't experienced any odd weather patterns. I do think it's a little too cool for summer, only about 80-90 degrees each day, but that could be because I'm way up north and all ermm
Hmm might be the startng phase of global warming, might be that there are nukes that are being deployed somewhere in the world(*cough* north korea *cough*) or it might be that it really is the end of the world (cue Final Day adventist cults flocking around in the streets shouting: "REPENT SINNERS!!!"😉 either way the earth has made some changes for the better or worse and so far we have coped wth those changes quite good...we humans have been here for almost 5 or so milion years(I might be wrong though)surely we must be getting used to it by now...
oh well, time to cook me breakfast on me top of car...
I watched this programme last night telling me about water in britain. It was quite interesting and I learnt some things. However I noticed something in the programme which reminds me about other environmentalists.
Half way through, the man said "Britain is losing (I don't know how much he said) per year! It's better than what it was 10 years ago but it's still a problem."
Now, is it just me, or did he say that the UK's water suply is getting better? 😕 And if it's getting better, why make a programme about how bad it is? Why start marches and blame multi-million companies in the US? Why complain about Global Warming when the hottest year in the US was 1998, the hottest year in California 1999, Hawaii 2000, Japan 2001, Thailand 2002, India 2003, Middle-east 2004, Greece 2005 and Great Britain 2006? Don't you see a pattern? Not only that, but there is hardly any evidence to prove or disprove Global Warming.
If things are inconclusive and getting better, why is everyone complaining?

Maybe we should look at global yearly trends instead of limited information.Global warming will cause the US and Europe to get cooler.

I'm just glad that it's finally cooled off here in Chicago...it didn't get below 95 degrees for like 3 and a half weeks straight. I was so sick during that time (I get heatsick very quickly).
