Sentry Respect Thread

Nate-Gray the X-man says that he won't win in a battle against the Dark Avengers <especially Sentry>. He even bows to the Sentry.

Also he confirms that Sentry did fight Galactus.

Meh...

So Sentry+Nate = Galactus

I want to see this encounter in full sometime soon. Simply saying you "stalemated Galactus" could mean a lot of things. Shedding some light on what actually happened is in order.

Nate making a blanket statement that he and Sentry "fought" Galactus does not imply that they were his equal.

I agree. Just surviving the encounter doesnt necessarily mean it was a stalemate.

I agree Sentry would one shot Galactus 😱

Looks like Sentry gets pwnt in Avengers #33.

See, that would have been a good time to use his MM powers... No, but they're forgotten as soon as they are introduced.

Maybe Bendis is the only one allowed to write Sentry at his MM owning levels.

OR, not every writer knows every other writer's plans for every character, and this issue was scripted before that issue of dark avengers came out.

guys absorbing man turned into a cube being...Sentry is not that powerfull. no shame at loosing by such an opponent imo

why assume this is post MM fight?

Do golden age Sentry and the Void each embody 50% of the full Sentry-power? Assuming they do, if one of them were to be permanently destroyed, would the remaining persona only have the power of 500,000 exploding suns?

Serious question.

I don't know, and I'm pretty sure no one does ... Based on the new Bendis explanation of his powers, I don't think its as quantifiable as 500,000 exploding suns, cos they don't really siphon off the power of a million exploding Suns.

Sentry seems to a have a similar meta power; to Miracle man, as his Super powers; mainly portrayed in a Superman eq style, derive from him being an Uber-Telekinetic, on par with Doctor Manhattan or the phoenix. So he doesn't really siphon off the power of a million suns, he just has enough telekinetic power over his body to give off energies comparable with a million exploding suns.

I.e. his mind is his energy source, not a million exploding suns !

My statement regarding 500,000 exploding suns was just another way of saying "half power". Those particular numerics weren't meant to be taken literally.

To rephrase: If one of Sentry's alter egos (ie. golden age/the Void) was permanently killed, would the remaining persona be left with only half power?

just speculation but i think that if one persona extincts the other self would have total power but will access only his powers and not the other half's.

However if the void is to be split by the sentry I guess each would share half of the initial power.

that's only my opinion however

I saw Creel effortlessly split Sentry into 3 distinct personalities, and Sentry being scared of it.
