Basically Grandmaster used this power souce known as the well spring of power to give every human on earth powers. With all this power the world erupted into chaos with all the factions putting their differences from civil war aside to keep the human populace at bay. Most of them could not control the power that Grandmaster gave them from the well spring. The problem was that Zemo scattered Grandmaster across the multiverse just like he did genis. He had to locate grandmaster because he was really the only person capable of containing all the power. Once Zemo freed him Grandmaster began to absorb much of the energy from the well spring. To fight him Zemo used his moonstones to absorb his own portion of the wellspring. With that power he began absorbing the powers of every superhuman on earth. Everyone lost their power too him. He then used all the powers he absorbed to negate Grandmasters powers and kill him. The problem came afterwards in which Zemo now had most of the wellspring power and every superhuman on earth. He couldn't be trusted so the thunderbolts shattered the moonstones that helped him absorb the power. The issue ends with the wellspring about to blow up.
