Galactus had fair warning of the attack that was ensuing. Thor was standing right in front of him when he threw the hammer. Galactus saying he was struck by another isn't necessarily him saying that he was surprised by the attack. But I digress as I don't want to get hung up on this minute detail. Point is Galactus was hurt because of a Mjolnir toss.Yes, adapted to as in absorbed, shunted the energy, blocked it, etc. Galactus was caught helpless. At least from the initial warning of it when he was hit, he could have reacted. In other words, it wasn't exactly 'cheap' once he knew he was being attacked. Instead, Thor kept pouring it on while Galactus couldn't do anything about it. You're looking too far into this whole cheap shotting business. The blast rendered Big G helpless and all he could do was flee for his life.
Him saying his strength was drained in that instance doesn't automatically mean that Thor was literally sapping away his strength. It could just mean that the blast itself was so strong that it started to make Galactus weaker. I mean he was knocked back into his ship, was he not?
"Simple" Mjolnir strike as in it was nothing exotic like a god blast.
It's funny, people act as if Ego's showing against Galactus is his only feat. He's had many instances other than that, and they aren't that flattering. Nothing really to suggest he would take 10/10 over Superman, mind you.
I said Ego "might" take a majority over Superman. I can see Superman winning too. And I didn't argue about Ego not winning 10/10 here. I only started to argue in this thread about the Galactus/Thor instance when you decided to chime in.
Besides, I, just like you, like to debate just for the fun of it.
Thor and the Recorder were on a ship, while Galactus was going to strike down Ego. Cheapshot. 🙂

*notice which way Galactus watches the hammer go*
What warning might you be speaking of? We see Thor release it, and in an "astro second" Galactus was hit... from the side it seemed. Galactus thought Thor was dead.
It already caused its effect though on contact when he was first hit... 😐 And then it kept hitting him after that. How does that take away a cheap shot, even if he could have possibly reacted? Everytime Thor attacked him (minus cheapshots) in the early years, Galactus threw up his shield as well...
No, I'm just tired of people bringing it up without context.
Perhaps... but even then, it still oddly looked different, and worked differently. Other times it was just a little beam... but against Galactus it was a massive wave.
Still powerful.
Maybe... but it does add to Ego.
OK.
"And I didn't argue about Ego not winning 10/10 here."
Eh?
OK. 🙂
