Top Ten Sci-Fi Films!!!!

Started by buddha18225 pages

Oh man... it's way too tough for me to come up with a complete top 10 list right now... but overall, Starship Troopers is my ultimate #1 with The Fifth Element taking a close #2... but there are so many others I love... Pitch Black, Serenity, Solaris, Star Wars, The Fountain, Matrix (geeez I love all of these)!! Ahh just too many!!

1] Star Wars I-VI
2] 2001: A Space Odyssey
3] Alien 1 & 2
4] E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial
5] Close Encounters of the Third Kind
6] Terminator 2: Judgment Day
7] Bladerunner
8] The Thing (1982)
9] Total Recall
10] Predator

My top 10:

1) Blade Runner - one of the best movies of all time.
2) The Matrix - When I first saw it, the time flew by. It was just so 'WOW'.
3) 2001 - No matter what genre Kubrick attempted, his movies were incredible.
4) Alien - scared the shit out of me.
5) 12 Monkeys - Great movie with a great cast and director.
6) Donnie Darko - I liked it before it was cool to like it, so that makes me cool.
7) The Abyss - I love the spooky atmosphere that pervades through this movie.
8) Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan - the thing in the ear = cool.
9) Empire Strikes Back - I guess there should be at least one Star Wars.
10) The Fifth Element - A little camp, but all good.

Only the top 3 are set in stone, the others can float around here and there. Although, they're all great movies.

Movies like Dr.Strangelove, A Clockwork Orange, and Back To The Future are undoubtedly great movies, but I don't really think of them as 'Sci-Fi', so I haven't included them in my list.

I find it hard to believe that none of u guys like star wars 1 2 or 3

I'm not a fan of classic movies, I guess I just cant stand the old CGI and picture quality.

1. Planet of the Apes- A really good film with an interesting time-travel storyline and a nice message behind it.
2. Solaris- I love the the way they conveyed emotions and sacrifice
3. Transformers- Loved the awesome action and imaginative story
4. Red Planet- I like how they villainized technology in this film
5. Serenity- A really good war movie with good action scenes
6. Star wars episode 3- I luv star wars, and this is one of my favourites
7. Alien vs Predator- I liked the ancient egyptian references they made in the story thats related to an actual theory
8. Men In Black 1 & 2- Very funny and clever movie, they blended comedy and action the best I've ever seen in a film
9. Day After Tommorow- Nice message, really gets to you at the end
10. iRobot- Another good technology-gone-wrong movie
