Am I just supposed to take ppl flinging crap at me?
Not in this life
Look, it happens. It's forum etiquette, or something. I don't like the way the majority of older members welcome new members, but when the approach of a new member provokes hostility it's sort of understandable the way things escalate. You have to understand that KMC is automatically defensive because of all the socks it tolerates on an almost daily basis, along with trolling idiots, spammers who don't read the rules and general chaos-unducing morons. If you get 'attacked', it's usually more of a gentle ribbing to begin with, it's the way you react that sets the path, you see? I know it's kinda illogical but it's the way things are at the moment. A lot of the members are calling for a change in the 'initiation process' and things are looking up for new members, believe me.
If I may offer a little advice, it would be best for you to try to ignore the flaming and try to settle in, find a niche. If I've come across as rude it's because I'm beyond frustration with the older members who should know better (myself included at times 😮 ) and the newer members who quite obviously ask for everything they get. It's got to change because KMC is rapidly turning into some fascist environment and that's not good.
