Too true, and oftentimes in between because you can't help it, they pop into your mind when you're working, or playing, or thinking, they become a part of you.

mmhmm, dreams, work, anytime really

You don't. You second guess yourself, you're paranoid and insecure, you wonder what they're thinking, you wonder what their long pauses mean, you think about them during the day, you want all of their attention at once but don't want to be smothered, you worry you're not enough, you worry you're too much. Love's a mess, it's not pretty and it's not neatly packaged, but once you find it, you never want to let go, and if you are forced to do so you never wanna love again, until the next one that awakens you again and makes you want all of those terrible things again because that other person when they smile at you makes you forget it all and you're just content doing nothing with them.[/personal view]

Probably nonsense 😮

Add you over look their flaws and make excuses for their behaviour.

And love them even more because it makes them human and imperfect because we're perfect in our imperfections, and when you find someone who loves and wants you imperfect, that's the first time you aspire to really be perfect, for them.

Yes sir, and just the thought of them makes you smile like a fool with a secret.

Probably nonsense 😮

So basically, you don't know when you're in love...but there are a whole list of ways to tell that you're in love...?

You just know, is the correct answer, because being IN LOVE with someone takes different things and different amounts of time for different people. For many people who think they are in love, it takes breaking up with or losing that love, then finding real love, to realise what love is. Others find it in one shot.

It entirely depends. There is no rule, and that's why love is complicated, because people define it differently and deal with it differently. There is no objective definition of love.

This, on the other hand, isn't love. It's naivity, which may very well come with love and/or obsession, but it's not love. It's a very particular state. I'm guilty of doing it for someone before, but so is everyone at some point I think.

I'll give you the making excuses part. The flaws part could go either way depending on what they are.

I just find it odd that you said "You don't (Know when you're in love)", and then listed many reasons as to why you know you're in love.

By odd I mean contradictory.

I didn't say that's how you know, just things that I've experienced before realizing I was in love, hence the personal view tags. Obviously love's different for everyone, that's a given, hate's different for everyone too, all emotion is.

That's how I've been feeling, and the last part is what I've discerned from people talking, and movies, a books, being fortunate to never have experienced myself.

Feel free to disagree, you're perfectly right to do so.

Also notice the probably nonsense bit at the end, it's not an intellectual debate we're partaking it, I'm not defining love for the Oxford Dictionary.

I wasn't picking on you in any serious way, you should know that. Considering it was one of our discussions that you claimed caused you to realise you were in love, it's not like I think you don't get it.

The point I made, to avoid further discussion, is that you realised you were in love, so the "You don't" seemed a bit needless.

No biggie.

-AC

I know, I'm grumpy and can't fall asleep, you'll have to suffer. 😛

The "You don't." bit is meant as more of a "You don't know until it happens to you." thing, if it wasn't clear. The rest is all me.

Here's a final question for the morning....

What makes one band better than any other? hmm
