I remember that. Surfer was coming to earth to let the avengers know that Thanos had returned from the dead in an issue of the infinity gauntlet. She thought he was a bad guy and hit him. She started holding her hand in pain. Cap told her Surfer was a good guy, and that she should spend some time looking up who the good guys and bad guys were in their computers.

Thano in the Infinity Gauntlet saga was hit by surfer's cosmic blasts, and surfer remarked that he didn't even scratch Thanos, or thanos's chair.

Only way thanos loses is if he kills himself. or its ironman level thanos clone.
