Fantasy Football Discussion

fantasy definitely takes a lot of luck in fact people who know a lot tend to shoot themselves in the foot by making too logical of a choice looking at matchups and all that instead of just stickin with the best player. I played in 2 leagues last year, it was my first time ever doing it I managed to win both. This year im not doing nearly as good. I garuntee I know more about football than a lot of my friends im in leagues with but you just cant predict whos gonna breakout every week. In fact theres a guy in 1 league who has yet to do a single thing since the draft and hes in second place.

The biggest advantage "knowledgable" fantasy players have is during the draft I think and then on staying on top of the season and finding nice pickups because of injuries and such.

I once again forgot to set my lineups but somehow I'm winning, but only by 10, but I have no people left and my opponent has Peyton. So I guess I lose. 😠 Unless somehow Vinatieri and Peyton manages to put up only 9 points.

My bench has 97 points and my starters have 63.

I need Manning, Dillon, Moss, and the Colts D to get 100 more points than Reggie Wayne, and Deion Branch.

Maybe, but the problem I see is that even if Manning has an amazing 4 TD, 400 yard game, which he might, atleast a few of those catches will go to Wayne, who will give me points in return.
Then if Dillion has a great game, there goes your Colts D points.

It's kinda of no win situation.

...might break the losing streak in KMC's league.

Not that it matters though, unfortunately. It's still an uphill battle to the playoffs.

P.S. Yeah, lots of luck in any fantasy league. But you can definitely be dumb about your draft and other stuff and give yourself no chance. So being football-smart doesn't ensure success, but being clueless definitely ensures a miserable team. Even guys that do well that don't check their team generally had a solid draft, so they at least did something right.

Wow, I had a very good week when I thought I might not have it with Santana Moss, McNabb being out.

Randy Moss will score 71 points for me Monday. 😆

Thats what?

10 TD's?

I got lucky with Walker. It seems to me that every week, one of my WR's has a big day and saves my ass. First it was Moss against Forumcrew's team, then last week with Wayne, and this week with Walker.
I'm just really lucky.

yea tom brady ruined what was a sure win for me in my other team tonight.

Alexander needs to get healthy for my other league. Cadillac, the Bells in Denver...not a single solid RB of the bunch. I picked up Anthony Thomas this week since McGahee might be out in case Shaun doesn't get back by next week either.

...I've been doing ok, but the only way I see myself making any sort of playoff run is if Alexander bails me out.

Woo-hoo....7-1-1 now guys. My whole team is hot. 🙂

Brees
Chester Taylor
LT
Colston
Mahhhvin
Heap
Rayner
Substitute D

...In 2 weeks I have a guaranteed win against a guy that never checks his team. If I can win this week, that means I'll go to 7-4 (after the gimme)....if I drop this one, 6-5 in two weeks. Big difference, and I'd basically be assured a playoff spot at 7-4.

Sucks that Alexander isn't back yet. I'm forced to start Anthony Thomas (filling in for McGahee) because Mike Shanahan is Satan and Cadillac blows.

Oh come Cadilliac is awesome...he so is worth the 3rd round for me.

If I picked a better RB in the round, just think how many points I would of gottenn muahahahahaa.

Caddy was a 1st-rounder for me in my other league. I can deal with third-round busts. But not 1st. Considering my first 5 picks were Caddy, Marvin (the lone solid choice), Bledsoe, Galloway, and T. Bell it's a wonder I'm 5-4.

True.

Galloway has been inconsisent as hell. He gets 3 points two weeks and then he gets 30 points.

id blame that more on his o-line qb situation but yea, its hard to count on him.

Bump.

Also, 6-4 (with an easy win next week, and basically an assured playoff spot).

Fantasy life is ok for the moment....now I just need a healthy Alexander and I can start thinking championship.

him and hasselbeck might both be back this week. I dont think alexander will be though.

I'm 7-3.

Not a huge deal. I'd rather have him healthy. I'm more concerned with my playoff run, so if he takes another week or two I won't be too concerned...especially since I have an easy matchup next week. I'll plug a #2 (anthony thomas maybe) in there and it'll be fine.

Congrats. You're set for a playoff spot too.

I'm basically screwed in KMC but will likely be making the playoffs in my other 2 leagues.
