What happens if you dont buy factions and go straight to nightfall? Will there be stuff missing?

This game looks a bit bland compared to the previous offerings... but its still got a ways til it comes out

You can just buy nightfall, it doesn't matter.

If you have Prophecies, but not Factions you can still buy it and play it, every GW game is standalone anyways.

And you're right it does seem a bit bland,

they should start making races.
