Bond *22 Confirmed, Craig returning....

http://www.superherohype.com/news/jamesbondnews.php?id=4521

It was announced today by producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. and Sony Pictures Entertainment, that the 22nd James Bond adventure will be released by Columbia Pictures on May 2, 2008 with Daniel Craig reprising the role of the legendary British secret agent.

The story for the latest James Bond film produced by the franchise holders, EON Productions has yet to be announced.

"As we wrap production on 'Casino Royale' we couldn't be more excited about the direction the franchise is heading with Daniel Craig. Daniel has taken the origins of Ian Fleming's James Bond portraying, with emotional complexity, a darker and edgier 007," said Wilson and Broccoli.

Good news indeed. 👆

Agreed.

This new Bond is going to rock.

Being hard-boilded, a killer who is taken from Navy Seal type commando/intelligence agent, and being made into the dashing playboy who loves gambling, ladies, and gadgets, is an awesome way to approach a reboot.

(and rings truer to the original Bond that Ian Flemming wrote, which you can see in the early Connery movies. He is suave and sophisticated, but also a deadly killer.)

I think most of the shit-talkers will be eating humble pie after Casino Royale is released and they have seen it.

I will be here to offer it to them in pieces or whole. 😛

Then to talk about this new film.

I've seen the trailer like..fifteen different times. And it STILL looks fkn amazing. It's going to be much more cinematic and have a lot more drama to it. It'll turn a lot of people off, but fk 'em.

L 😂 L!

I'll be looking forward to this. Casino Royale took Bond to a whole new level and it'll be cool to see them continue from there.

I hope in the next one we'll see the dawn of a "Q" character. One thing that disappointed me about Casino Royale is there was no cool gadget scene.

i think the gadgets will come in time as this era of the series continues

Why does there need to be any gadgets!?

I saw Casino Royale last night and was impressed.

Daniel Craig is the best Bond ever.

Casino royale isn't just the best bond movie EVER it's possibly my movie of the year... awesome. Can't wait for the sequel...

if its anything like casino royale it should be pretty good...

You know what I want to see? I want to see a Jewish James Bond. They might have to change his name (Bondstein.... Moishe Bondstein). I got the idea here: http://www.koolanoo.tv/ (click on “mixing business with pleasure”)

BUMP. 🤺

The Trades has posted a great interview with "James Bond" franchise writers Robert Wade and Neal Purvis in which they talk about the 22nd film.

Wade told the site that you shouldn't bet on Q and Moneypenny to return just yet. "With the way 'Casino Royale' ends, you know there’s still unfinished business for Bond. He may say, 'The name's Bond, James Bond,' but there's still a lot of stuff churning up inside him. So, if you're going to explore that, and we’ve got this great actor to do that with, what you don’t want to do is suddenly clamp it down with all these familiar elements that keep your focus off him. He's the great asset."

Purvis added that it would be easier to add Moneypenny to the storyline. "Q presents more problems. People have all got gadgets now. Other films have lots of gadgets as well…The idea of Q coming back, for the moment, it's just not a high priority."

Wade debunked the rumor that the next film would be based on Ian Fleming's short story, "Risico," but he had no comment about whether Vesper's Algerian boyfriend would be one of the villains in James Bond 22.

About the schedule, Wade said "The idea is for the movie to start shooting at the beginning of next year."

In related news, CommanderBond.net says that Giancarlo Giannini, who played Rene Mathis in Casino Royale, has confirmed that he will appear once again in the next film.

More news, seems the new film won't have the same director as Casino Royale:

"Casino Royale helmer Martin Campbell told press at the Chinese premiere for the film on Monday that he would not likely be directing the next Bond film despite the global success of the 21st installment.

Campbell also directed the first Pierce Brosnan 007 film, GoldenEye.

Screenwriters Robert Wade and Neal Purvis said earlier this week that they expect shooting to start at the beginning of next year.

James Bond 22 is currently scheduled for a November 7, 2008 release with Daniel Craig returning as the super spy."

BUMP!

This new film will be out next summer.

What do you all want to see in it, or what do you think is going to happen?

I read somewhere that this would be Daniel Craigs last james bond movie.

Taken from express:

HAVING toughened up the character of James Bond for Casino Royale to huge critical acclaim, Daniel Craig has surprisingly revealed that the next Bond outing will mark a return to the comedy that Roger Moore brought to the franchise in the Seventies.

Craig, 39, says of his forthcoming second outing as 007: “They [the producers] just want more gags. The next one’s going to be a lot funnier. Octopussy and Pussy Galore style gags. They’re all great names – but that’s the thing, the Bond jokes will be flipped on their heads.”

The Cheshire-born actor is keen to make Bond his own creation and that will apparently mean showing a softer, less macho side to the character.

“Bond is supposedly the most male moment [in film] but to me he’s never been macho. That Bond is something that Sean Connery created in Dr No,” he says.

“I don’t know Sean but I wouldn’t want to meet him in a dark alley – he was a big strong guy and he had a big male presence about him.

“Everybody was in an uproar when he was going to be James Bond. He got flak because he was basically an Edinburgh bricklayer. And everyone who read the books thought how can he possibly do it? But he created a style that was unique and kind of sexy.”

Not that Daniel wants to imitate Connery or any other preceding Bond, adding: “There’s no point in trying to compete with every Bond that came before. You manage to make it your own.”

Just as long as he dons those very fetching tight blue swimming trunks...

I don't like how that sounds.

I think he's pulling our legs.

The new style of Casino Royale was one of the best Bond films ever, and people ate it up.

Surely they wouldn't be stupid enough to make it all hammy now would they?
