Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man

Honestly, I was so excited about this title. An all new title, not based off of any of the past! Hurray!

After the "Other" story arc, however, that praise turned into depression. Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man has sucked balls so far. No offense intended to the Spider-Man franchise, but the title hasn't produced one good story so far.

Oh look, Spidey's fighting a masked wrestler! Kinda like his first appearance in Amazing Fantasy, eh? 🙁

Well, look here! We have the Hobgoblin of 2211 (who looks more like the Green Goblin) trying to screw with Spider-Man while we not only bring Uncle Ben out of retirement AGAIN, but we also do our best to play off of John Romita's old covers back in Amazing Spider-Man! 😛

My God! Hobgoblin 2211 had a ****ing "RETCON BOMB!!!" and

I know I don't HAVE to, but I don't want to be in the scenario in which I stop and something awesome happens in the series. Also, with it's involvement with the "War at Home" story arc, I need to buy FNSM to get the whole story.

I stopped reading Friendly Neighbourhood after the 3rd issue.

It just got worse and worse 🙁

I am doing this for years.

I dropped it at issue 9 along with AMZ...

I expected more from PAD 🙁

Sensational and unlimited are the only spider titles I still pick up...

I did like the retcon bomb though .... 😆

oh well I still got x-factor to enjoy my PAD goodness. Still my favorite book out each month.

At the moment I like Annhilation Nova and Civil War.
Planet Hulk was also nice to read. But the Spider titles
arent that good at the moment.

I still like Amazing enough to buy it, though when it comes to comics, I am a spidey-whore. I'm better now, after trimming my list to the necessities (AMZ, SENS, USM, FNSM, NA). I think thats JMS is a great writer, but they've stretched him too thin, having him work on his own stuff, Spidey, and Fantastic Four to boot! He was great in his early work, in the beginning of the Ezekiel controversy with Romita Jr.

See, those are two guys that got Spidey! They need to bring back the JMS/Romita Jr./Dell team. They were perfect!

I love FNS. It may be the best Spiderman series ever.

the new Mysterio story looks promising.

I've enjoyed it more to anything I've read from JMS over at AMZ in years.

The art in this mysterio arc looks very nice. And I'm glad that their carrying on from the plot left from 'The Evil That Men Do'.

they have been bad.

but JMS is responsible for the other event. I won't blame PAD for a multi title event being put on his lap as soon as he was supposed to start his run.

Yeah I started reading these figuring I could have some fun doing it.

They either need to do some major fixing or just stop the series. Maybe try again fresh with a new title?
