"I still didn't get a kill"
One of many spartans came up next to Wise and said, 'too bad, maybe next time you should aim?', then just as they though the battle was through there was a slight rumble in the floor and two huge beast appeared in blue armor, a large shielded arm, spikes sticking from their back, and a few un-armored spots revealing their body. 'you can get them, like you said you haven't gotten a kill yet'
"uh guys anybody wanna go for this kill?"
He slowly rose his weapon as the beast on the right rose his, Wise fired as some bullets bounced off the armor and some tore into the flesh of the monster and then a large green ball appeared infront of the gun, Wise made it out of the line of sight in a split second but, the other spartan met an untimly end by being disenegrated by the shot.
(told you I will get us killed 😛 )
This hangar has seen better days is what Yi thought when Blue Team entered the bay with the Rebel ship in it. The walls were pockmarked with bullets and plasma burns. The Colonel noticed a distinctive shell casing on the ground: from a 14.5mm x 114 APFSDS round. The Spartans had been here. Thankfully they hadn't destroyed the rebel ship.
Signalling Blue Team to stop, she switched to infrared vision and took a look around the room. Aside from the occasional still-warm plasma burn, the hangar was fairly cold. The ship itself was still very cold, showing up as a dark black--except for a hand-shaped yellow spot on a window. Someone was inside. Things were going according to plan.
Ordering the rest of Blue Team to carefully search the rest of the hangar for any remaining rebels, she signalled for Banken to follow her inside the ship. The hatch had been left open--sloppy. Things turned from pitch-black to just dark when Yi entered the ship, still looking at the world through infrared eyes, occasionally cycling back to the visible light spectrum. A warm spot appeared--shaped like an elbow, poking around a corner.
She withdrew a small pistol from a leg holster, putting the plasma rifle away. Then she sprang around the corner. The rebel was so surprised that he didn't have a chance to scream as Yi quickly covered his mouth and shot him in the neck with the silenced pistol. He slumped to the floor after struggling for a few moments, unconscious from the effects of the tranquilizer she had dosed him with. Banken moved to secure him, and Yi waited until he was finished to move on toward the cockpit of the small craft.
Withdrawing the garrote Jonas had captured for her, and turned it on. It quietly sprang to life, and she turned the power down low. Holding both handles in one hand, she let it dangle, and held the pistol in the other. Pausing outside the closed door to the cockpit, the Colonel signalled for the communications specialist to clear one side while she cleared the other. Banken opened the door.
Inside the cockpit was a solitary man, seated at one of the control stations, facing away from them. Yi quickly wrapped the garrote around his neck, and he made a few strangled noises. "Is there anyone else aboard but that guard we took out back there?" she asked.
"Ghhhah . . . no. . ." he moaned. They wouldn't believe that answer, but it never hurt to ask. Sometimes they'd say "Yeah, there's Jones over in the cargo hold, and Webber over in Engineering. . ."
"I'm going to let you talk a little so we can understand what you're saying. But if you try anything you shouldn't, I'll crank up the power on this and cut your head right off. Understand?" she asked, loosening the pressure.
"Go to hell. I'll never tell you anything."
"Let's begin, shall we? Why are you here?" the Colonel continued.
"Go to HELL!" the rebel replied.
"That's not very helpful. I suppose I'll have to get creative. . ."
"How about this, you Imperial scum? Take your UNSC empire, and shove it! You've oppressed us for long enough, and if you won't let us go, then we'll let the Covenant wipe you out, so there's nothing left of Humanity except for us! How does that sound? Better?" The rebel was nearly foaming at the mouth with his ranting.
Banken caught Yi's eye, and nodded. "That sounds perfect," she said, and shot the rebel in the neck. He jerked a few times and then went unconscious. "Get to work," she ordered Banken, as Jonas entered the ship.
"All clear, ma'am." he notified her.
"Good. Clear the rest of the ship and we can get this started."

Raevynn could barely stomach what she was watching. Before the Spartan's mutilated corpse; or rather what was left of it could hit the floor, she was already sprinting his direction. The creatures weapon was already starting to recharge itself as she threw herself over her comrade, shaking his armless body around as if somehow it would bring him about.
Raevynn put two fingers on the side of his neck to feel for a pulse. She didn't even have to wait for it. His skin sunk in like heated plastic at her touch. Despite the foul scent of charred skin, she hugged the spartan close to her as if to say goodbye, but as quickly as she had gotten there, she set him down and sprang to her feet, running in the direction of the second alien whos massive weapon was charging and aimed directly at a trio of her Spartans.
Raevynn knew what she was doing was near suicidal, but something had to be done about these beasts. She leapt nearly two feet into the air and right onto the creatures back. She quickly dug her fingers between a plate of armor and held on with a death grip. Either the other alien would shoot both her and his comrade, or better yet the other Spartans would now have a fighting chance at taking this one down.
Wise watched, stunned as Raevynn leaped onto the creature's back, it took him a while then he finally thought, he was the closest and the only chance raevynn had cause the creature was beggining to turn its body towards a wall and possible ram her. Wise hopped up took out one of the Fletchettes he brought along and charged moving faster than ever, he immediatly threw the first one right into the beast's stomach it reached over to remove it but it's arm was too large, Wise immediatly hopped up onto the arm and ran up and caught the creature around the neck and placed the last flechette into his neck and slid down the creature, grabbing Raevynn along the way as they both hit the ground. The beast fell and luckly he got off when he did taking Raevynn with him the creature tried to enlarge the spikes before it fell to its death, now it was just that last one left but, he couldn't find it anywhere and he was pretty sure it didn't die yet.
Jacob had seen to monsters come from beneath the ground. He saw the Spartans unlaod into their shields but is was worthless. Jacon quickly removed the sniper rifle from its back as the others distracted it.
Taking aim Jacob unleashed all four shots into the beats vulnerable spots but the beast didn't go down. Just then it looked straight at Jacob. The demon charged with it's shield coming right at Spartan 086. Jacob jumped up trying to roll off the shield but the beasts strength cuased Jacob to fly upwards into a pile of boxes.
The rest of the Spartans had come to his aid causing the creature to take it's attention away from Jacob. Jacob tried to stand but his legs were weak and everything was blurry. Looking to his right he saw Raevynn and Wise fighting one and looking back over he saw the rest of the Spartans getting thrown over the place.
Jacob landed near his sniper rifle. He picked it up and quickly removed the spent clip. The Hunter had heard this and begin to charge at Jacob once more. Jacob had just finished reloading. Putting the rifle square in his shoulder he let out all four shots again. This time the creature stumbled but did not fall but it was diverted enough to allow Jacob to roll out of its way. Jacob was quickly relaoding again but the beast didn't remain stunned for long.
Just as Jacob had finahed putting the fresh clip in it was to late and the beast was on him. Jacob threw up the sniper rifle hitting the creature with the butt of the gun but it didn't help. wthe monster quickly overpowered Jacob and pinned his waist to the ground with it's shield. The weapon had been knocked far away from Spartan 086.
Looking around the rest of the SPartans had been thrown about and weren't going to be able to save him. Just then a bright green light begin to shine on Jacob's face. The thing was powering up it's weapon. Jacob could see a pistol on the ground he reached for it reaching with everything he had. The beast almost was laughing at Jacob as it begin to lower the weapon right on Jacob's head.
Jacob's fingers wrapped around the pistol lifting it up he unlaoded what was left of it into the creature's neck. It reared back picking the shield off. Jacob then rolled underneath the creature's legs picking up a spare ammo clip while releasing the empty one. When he was on his feet again te new clip was in and ready to roll. Jacob quickly jumped off the wall in front of him unto the creature's back. Grabbing hold o it's neck collar Jacob placed the Pistol right up to the neck and unloaded point blank. The creature was bucking like a bull and Jacob held on for dear life.
Then the creature finally collapsed underneath Jcob and Jacob strolled a few feet from the beast and fell down unto his back. He was finding it hard to breath as if his ribs had been cracked. Everything was going dark. He saw a few darkened faces come over him befor ehe passed out.
Rayden had been busy wiping blood out of his eyes and messing with his datapad when the monsters appeared and disintegrated some of his fellow Spartans. One look at the creatures told him everything he needed to know. Even he in all his angry black man glory would not be take down the beasts in CQC. Their would be no replicating of the feat he had pulled off earlier here. Still, he would try.
Rayden attempted to take advantage of Raevynn's suicidal tactic to shoot the creature in it's head with his flechette. The armor was too close together, however. None of his bullets could bypass the thick armor.
Rayden gritted his teeth and ran toward the monster, hoping to get a better shot at it's head. Instead, he was swatted by the creature's large shield, which sent the 7'3 soldier crashing into the wall on opposite side of the room.
Rayden layed slumped forward against the wall, dazed. His vision was blurry, but he could make out the rat-a-tat-tat and bursts of gunfire. He could also hear various screams and shouts, followed by two large thumps which echoed and shook the entire room.
After a few more minutes of collecting his thoughts, Rayden painfully stood up and flexed. Feeling that nothing was broken, he felt on his waist for his datapad, which was, amazingly, unharmed.
Rayden rejoined the rest of the Spartans and examined the two dead creatures. He recorded their appearance on his datapad, and then walked over to Jacob. He felt his pulse.
"He's still alive, just knocked out."
Rayden moved his down to his chest.
"Some broken bones, though. His ribs, I think. ( 😛 ) He won't be fighting that much for the rest of the mission."
Rayden picked Jacob up with one hand and slung him over his left shoulder. He bent down and used his right hand to grab the half-melted dog tags of the disintegrated Spartans and shoved them into his pocket.
"What now, Chief?"
))By Chief, I'm referring to Raevynn. Chief is just another term for boss... ((
*Mendez walked back into the medical room and waited for an answer from Parker. All Parker did was make a slight nod, and Mendez already knew what it meant.
Pulling out a gas mask with anaesthetic contained inside, he carefully placed it over Parker's mouth and nose. Parker silently counted to 10, and then fell asleep. When the gas mask was removed, two surgeons walked in and began the surgery on his arm.
For starters, they needed to make the new arm fit into the slot, so the surgery took a couple of hours. When they were finished, Mendez walked back in and waited for Parker to snap out of his daze. When he finally did, Mendez grinned.* "It's over. Well done."
*Parker sat up and looked at his new arm. It would take awhile to get used to it, but already he had the hang of moving it. He jumped off the operating table and walked around. Mendez handed him an unloaded pistol* "Try aiming it, see how your arm works." *He did as he was told, and nothing happened. It must've been a good thing, as Mendez smiled* "Good, good. Well, you might as well get something to eat, you've been in here awhile. Go down to the cafeteria and enjoy this." *Mendez handed him a pass*
"It's about noon, so that'll get you a free lunch. Dismissed. *Mendez walked back towards his office, while Parker headed in the oposite direction, hiding the new features with his sweater. Spartans who walked by him along the way either nodded or saluted to him. He just nodded and continued walking.*
[]omg no juggernaut floods!!! The hunters were extreme enough. We're only 12 years old godamit>_<! We dont have super strength yet, keep that in mind. And when we do get all our enhancements, you're guy will be freakishly fast, SpadeKing. People will barely be able to track him.
Now if everyone is done fighting the covenant we can go back to Reach and start with somethin else ^_^[]
Raevynn scrambled to her feet, staring at Wise in amazement. She knew he wasn't as stupid as the trainers jokes often portrayed. But there was no time for glorifying him. As Raevynn's gaze studied the room, she noticed that there were two losses, and by the looks of it maybe a third.
Rayden was tossing Jacob over his shoulder. She ran to them and stared at Jacob for a long while as the Spartan drifted in and out of consciousness.
"He's going to be just fine." She said to no one in particular.
"What now, Chief." Rayden asked.
Raevynn regained her serious composure and reminded herself that she had a job to do. There was no time to mourn over casualties. "Rayden, I want you to scan the ship for any unfriendly signatures. Im sure the Colonel mopped up those rebels without any problems. Once you're finished scanning, Call home and get us an evac off this old rust bucket."
Raevynn couldn't wait to get back to Reach and see the other Spartans that had already left. She could only hope that there were no more new casualties waiting for them. Somehow Jacob was going to be alright. She wouldn't know what to do if she lost any more Spartans in just one single day.
Inside his stasis chamber, Axel floated silently, driving up and down in a repetitive and almost ghostly or spectral fashion. Though he was invisible to the outside world hidden safely within another one of his tanks, the mental image one could picture of the lone child drifting within a sea of future malice and destruction would bring none other than a descending eerie feeling into the spirit of the place, like the shadow of a storm cloud as it sweeps over the land.
Everything seemed dark. Not normal. Axel looked around. He was in a small room; a red oak table was in the middle. He noticed dozens of high ranking military officers around him. All seated at the table in the center. It was dark … The room itself was dark, but the darkness here was not normal… it was like a haze, which swept through, beyond, and within everything, both blurring his vision, and giving everything a slight wave, as if it were under some kind of liquid. He was dreaming.
He tried to blink out of reflex to clear his vision, but of course it did not work. He breathed out sharply in frustration. In his dream anyway… What kind of dream was this? What kind of person dreamt and was aware they were dreaming?
In his stasis cell, Axel’s eyebrows tightened in confusion.
Beside him, one of the Generals spoke. The sound was quiet, far off, though the man stood right beside him. As if the man spoke clearly, but there was water between the man and himself.
”Of course. If the Master Chief supports your position Antioch, then so will I.”
Axel took in the man’s words. Whoever this “Antioch” was, he seemed extremely important. The tone in the Generals voice suggested unlimited respect, awe, and loyalty to the person he was speaking too. On a whim, he looked to see in the same direction as the General.
In his cell, Axel’s heart rate jumped for a few seconds.
”Raevynn?!” Axel blurted, instantly regretting the decision, as so far no one around him seemed to notice he was there, but no sound came from him. He could not speak. Biting his tongue, Axel forced himself to simply be an observer to the events proceeding in front of him. It seemed to his conscious mind, this dream held some importance.
Rae was indeed there, though she was taller, and had a new suit if armour on, though it looked like it had carried her through hell and back. She was older as well. He could see in here eyes, despite the distortion, the spiritual connection of someone who’d seen far more than she should have, and been through even worse. Pains and traumas from the past were evident, though covered by a perfectly emotionless expression. Axel also got the feeling that though she’d been saddened before, and naturally kept it a secret; she’d gotten over it by now. Whenever now was…
Standing beside and slightly in front of her was another Spartan. Far taller, about seven feet. This Spartan’s armour was as black as void itself, and his sheer being seemed to project nightmare in Axel's direction. This was the man they referred to as Antioch. At least, Axel assumed so, considering all the reverence most of these men and women seemed to hold for him. He could also tell through Raevynn’s position, as well as a hunch, that she and this Antioch were comrades. She stood between him, the door behind him, and some of the people to his left. These people it seemed, held skepticism toward Antioch in place of the respect the others gave him. Though it seemed, he would not need her protection in most cases. Axel felt sheer power radiating off his man.
On the other side, and slightly behind Antioch was a Spartan-II. Axel instantly recognized him as the Master Chief. His armour was new, but it looked Spartan-II variant from its bulkiness. This man seemed to have a connection with Antioch as well, though it was more of respect. Axel assumed they’d seen combat together on more than one occasion.
“With all due respect, Antioch.” All heads turned toward the speaker, except the one he was addressing. Through the visor of the Spartan, Axel got the sense that he was locking eyes with one of the other men sitting at the table. Axel recognized it as The Lieutenant who had first taken him to the Spartan- III complex.
Moments passed before Antioch turned to look at the speaker. The motion’s attitude held no threat or malice, but it caused the Admiral to halt his speech for several seconds before he regained his composure and continued. “Attacking Blessed Sanctum is a suicide mission. I hold nothing but respect for what you have done for our people but surely-“
”We all know, Admiral, that you don’t believe half of what we were told of his actions. I admit, after The Core ships returned from uncharted space, no one really believed the report we were given, but his actions on the home front speak their validity, he and his comrades. Spartan 116, supposedly the last of a “failed breed” did you put it?”
Raevynn showed almost no reaction, though she tensed slightly.
”Lord Hood please…” Another man spoke. His lips were dark blue, and his skin was deathly pale, and translucent in some places. Axel got the impression this man was one of the "Core”. “Tensions are high. Any man could calculate that. However I believe now is not the time for your bickering. The future of our Covenant is at stake.”
Axel dreamt on…
They landed in the hangar. Tak listened to the air pressure release with a good as new noise. It was music to his ears. A man came in to his room. "Welcome to Reach, cadet" the man said in a rough army trained voice.
Tak gasped. 'Reach?' he thought to himself 'this has to be some kind of joke, I'm no soldier I'm just a kid'
"What am I doing here?" Tak asked confused.
"Why you're here to become a spartan kid" the soldier laughed.
"What's that?"
"You have a lot to lear cadet. follow me."
Tak followed the soldier out of the room and off the cargo ramp. "whoa." Tak gasped in amazement looking at the state of the art technology in front of him. There were scientists and trainers walking around busily on their scheduled tasks.
"Where are we going?" Tak asked trying to keep up with the soldier's fast, steady pace.
"Administration. we've got to tell the folks that our ship isn't dead." The soldier said.
They arrived at the chrome, administration desk. A portly beuracratic worker turned to greet them.
"State your buisness," she said in a dull voice.
"The soldier saluted
"We are cargo ship #46228" he recited with rehearsed pride.
"46228...46228...ah, ohh. Sir, we really do not take jokes kindly around here. Cargo ship #46228 has been missing for over five years" she remarked scowling at him.
The soldier anticipated a rude remark and quickly bent over towards her and said "It's the Spartan007 project. We just had a small problem with the engine we got it fixed and we're back."
"I fixed it!" Tak shouted proudly. The woman bent over towards him and looked him over.
"yes, he does look about the right age. Very well, send him back" she said sighing and gesturing towards a burly guard at a door. The guard bumbled over and took him back in to an audience chamber.
A few minutes later a trainer came in and sat down on a chair.
"Excuse me sir, but what's a spartan," Tak asked confused at what the soldier had asked him earlier. The man went over what a spartan was and explained what he would be doing for the galaxy and the universe. 'wow," Tak said amazed.
"Yes, it is quite intriguing really. Now, if you'll come with me to the labs I'll start you up on the cybergenetic plan and add a few oof!" the man was interrupted by the ground shaking. An alarm saying intruder alert, intruder alert. went off. the man got back up. "you stay here" he said running out of the room and barring it behind him.
Tak breathed heavily. It could be one of the covenant that he had heard about. They sounded extremely dangerous. Tak paced back and forth wondering what was going to happen.
While pacing he noticed a large gun on the table. he picked it up just as a back door opened.
There was a grunt standing before him. It growled menacingly and pointed its plasma pistol at him. Just as it shot, he jumped behind the table in the center of the room. This was one of the aliens. He had to kill it or do something.
The grunt paced over to where Tak was hiding laughing at the terrible thing he was about to do. He rounded the corner only to be greeted by the repeated wack of the hilt of the gun in Tak's hand.
The grunt finally fell to the ground and Tak shot the gun killing the grunt. The smell was terrible. Tak huddled up in a little corner waiting for the situation to be taked care of. He didn't want to run in to any more of those hideous things anytime soon.
(I supposed that even a twelve year old techie could kill a grunt 😄)
"Yes, ma'am."
Rayden layed Jacob on the ground and pulled out his datapad and tapped a command into it. Afterwords he waved it around the room, gazing at the view screen intently. After a minute or two, he put it away.
"Coast is clear, ma'am. Now to call evac..."
Rayden detached a radio comlink from his belt and hooked the headpiece to his ear, he fiddled with a knob on the radio making his way toward the right frequency. he spoke into the headset after switching to the right frequency.
"Control, this is Spartan 077. Over."
The radio crackled a response.
"Roger that, 077. Hear ya loud and clear. What can we do for ya on this fine day?"
"The Choragus is secure, I repeat, the Choragus is secure. We have met our mission objectives. We're requesting immediate evac as we've had a few KIA's, one severely wounded spartan, and I got one hell of a haircut earlier. Over. "
Their was a slight pause. Most likely the person Rayden was talking to was talking with a superior. Finally, he responded.
"We copy, 077. Evac in ETA thirty minutes. Can you hold out that long?"
"We'd better..." Rayden said, then shut off the radio.
"
*As Parker finished up his well deserved lunch, Mendez walked up to him and motioned him to follow. Throwing his trash away, Parker followed quickly behind.
As Mendez was walking down the hall, he explained the situation to Parker.* "We just received a transmission from the rest of your team. The Choragus is secure, and we've sent evac. Though several are badly injured, they should be able to hold out for awhile. In about an hour I want you to head over to the docking bay and meet them there. Leave the badly wounded to our medical team. Escort the rest towards the medical bay and check out their injuries. If it's anything serious, send them over to the medical team and they'll check them out. You've been trained for minor injuries, so this should be a breeze for you."
*Mendez then left Parker standing there with questions swarming through his mind. What would his team think if their Commander, who was headstrong, willful, and cowardly at times, had been almost taken down by some strange alien life form? Then again, that strange alien life form was a beast the way it was trained for stealth like that. He checked his watch, and five minutes had passed since evac was sent out. Just another 55 minutes until they would be coming home. Atleast, he hoped so.*
