Metallica haven't been a metal band for atleast a decade, now. Can they really even be in contention? Marilyn Manson has NEVER been a heavy metal band. They're more progressive/industrial/rock than anything.

What's your basis? The last album was a great piece of work, bucking a lot of cliches. Very experimental, and still heavy.
