The Forsaken
(My post's pretty long to make up for what I've missed. You guys are moving really fast... -.-' )
She hadn’t said a word as the others left to explore the strange new world they found themselves stuck in. She hadn’t even tried to stop Audio, the one person she had felt comfortable with, as he left. Knees pulled up to her chin as she sat in the shadows, no one seemed to see her or they didn’t bother her at least. She just wanted to be home, didn’t care that she could be missing her concert, didn’t care that she was alone. Elie just wanted to be somewhere safe, in someplace she knew. Digging around in her messenger bag, the tomboy pulled out her jacket and sent her cell phone skidding across the floor. Picking it up and looking at its screen, depression over whelmed her. ‘No Service’ kept blinking in black letters upon a white background. No hope, no help.
After awhile, no one returned, not even Audio. Maybe…maybe they had found a way out. Maybe they had escaped from this insane dream. If they did then she should try as well. In any case, doing something was better than sitting alone and feeling like an idiot in side this rock-thing.
Drawing the hood of her jacket up, Elie stepped through the hologram and out into the forest. Not sure of her bearing, she wrapped her arms around herself and head straight, deciding that then she would be able find her way back. As she continued, the song of birds and other animals began to fade out, and the woods got denser…darker. It wasn’t only that it was thicker here, but also that she had reached a dead part of the forest. Both ground and trees were blackened with soot darker than Elie’s clothes, so dark that the forest seemed engulfed by night.
Lost as she was, Elie continued forward, hoping that she’d find someone, or suddenly see an exit but she didn’t. Tumbling head first as her foot caught in an invisible something, she blacked out.

Groggily, Elie began coming to. Her head was swimming and she was seeing double. Was it just her, or had the forest turned green again? Bolting upright, she felt the dizziness return and closed her eyes to diffuse it. Green, green and black, dead and alive. She was in the middle of a clearing where the two parts of the forest met, and had no idea how she had gotten there.
Standing up, she tried to brush the soot off of herself but abandoned the task within seconds. It merely smeared and made her jacket blacker. “Hello?” Her head snapped up as she heard a rustle in the undergrowth. “Is anyone there?” Nothing. It must have been her imagination running wild; she’d been in the dark and alone for so long that her mind was playing tricks on her.
As she moved forewards, though, the weight of something round and hard in her bag bounced against her leg. Pulling it open, she pulled the object out. ‘A rock? No…more like an egg.’ She looked at the golden-speckled, black shell of an egg slightly smaller than her head. ‘But an egg of what?’
There was no more time to think about the odd egg, for a little ways through the green trees, Elie spotted a familiar face.
“Audio!” The egg was quickly tossed back into the bag as she raced after her friend.
