I might revamp it, though not in the near weeks since I don't have the time.

Question here. In that one part where Metron shows the Specter the Source Wall, why are all the guys stuck to it hanging their mouths open and a'firin' lazorz from their eyes? What's the deal with that?

All those statue-esque characters are beings which have tried to venture beyond the Source Wall in the past (and failed.) They are kept as celestial trophies, more or less.

I call bullshit on that - why wouldn't Spectre have used more power when he started losing?

The Spectre takes his/its orders from the Presence, so probably he was not able to use his full power...that's my theory.

But the Presence itself stepped in to stop the GEB later

Right, that was probably its plan all along, if it wasn't, then the Spectre would have done so and would have had access to his full power.

You have to love the dialogue:
