Aside from the wet Norfolk beaches in winter that I have a sentimental attachment to and sometimes go fossiling there, I haven't properly been to the beach in ages. My Dad had huge whacking great skin cancers cut out of his face a couple of days back. That sort of thing can really put you off the sun.
Mind you, my Dad's attitude to the sun over time has been to shout defiance at it. "Come on, ultraviolet rays! Give me all you've got!" he might as well have been shouting.
