Thats a good point.Thats very possible.In the first film as far as looks alone go,I was pleased with the casting choice of Dunst-she definetely looked gorgeous like Mary Jane is in the comics.She definetely looked like a hot red head.The only thing I hated about her was that her character was much more like Gwen Stacy.She acted much more like Gwen Stacy and nothing at all like Mary Jane from the comics.But as far as looks alone go,I was pleased with the casting choice of Dunst.But when SM2 came out,I was horrified by what Dunst looked like.She went from being gorgeous to just plain ordinary.Her face was pale and her hair went from red to light brown/blond.Apparently her hair dye she was using for the first film was not working anymore. 😱 😄 😄 She was not at all attractive in the second film like she was in the first.She did not resemble Mary Jane at all.Huge mistake Raimi made casting a blond to play a red head.NOW they have cast Howard who like Dunst was in the second film,is just plain ordinary looking and not at all attractive either.so yeah they seem to have started a trend since the second film.

Kirsten Dunst is weird. sometimes she looks good, and most often times, she looks really gross. In the sp1 scene where her and peter talk outside in the backyard, she looks really gross/fugly there. But then, she lookes pretty good in the photoshoot in the lab/taken by peter scene, etc. she's weird. She was alright in the wet shirt scene though 😛

Yeah now that I think about that she wasnt very good looking in some scenes even in the first film like that scene.But at least there were many times when she was so I never really thought about it much.But boy the second film though,she turned into an ugly dog. 😘

lol...I agree, I loved her hair colour in the first one. I wish they still had it like that in the second. Like how did it go from Bright red to dull orange..that was stupid. They might as well have used a wig or something.
And even Spiderman isn't easy on the eyes, well no he was very lovely in the first film I'm not going to lie. But in the second one, when he's stopping the train he face is gross lol...Actually he is good looking just not in that scene.
I'm pretty sure they wont make Gwen ugly if shes not suppose to be than they wont. Right? RIGHT?

I dont know,from the photos I have seen of Howard on the set and from the trailer,she is not at all attractive which like you said,seems to be the new thing these days with Raimi and sony.

Well, I guess its because not everyone needs to be perfect looking to play a superhero and a superhero's women.
except for Superman Returns, Superman and Lois were pretty good looking 😉 😛

Im not asking for perfect for Gwen.Nobody is that.All I am asking for is a blond actress thats hot and looks a lot like Gwen.Sarah Michelle Geller has those qualitys.She would have been a perfect Gwen Stacy.Shes not pudgy and overweight with a double chin on her.When I first saw that pic of Howard on Letterman,I was excited about seeing Gwen Stacy on the big screen.she was always my favorite supporting character from the spiderman comics.Howard looked gorgeous in that interview.But sense then,by looking at all the photos of her in the trailier and on the set sense then,she has gotten fat and out of shape.

what is Sarah Michelle Gellar's natural hair color though? Cuz if they had made her dye it blond, isn't that going against your frustration with Raimi casting a blonde to play a red-head and vice versa?

As for Bryce Howard, I'm only judging her from these random set photos of her. The first one in particular really bugged me, but I'm confident they'll try to make her decent-looking in the film.

I am not a die hard Geller fan but as far as i know,blond IS her natural hair color.Im pretty much a 100% sure thats her natural hair color that you see in the photo.Like i said earlier,that one poster only helped boost my case that Geller would be a much better gwen than Howard by posting that photo.He did me a HUGE favor by doing that.You look at that photo of geller and compare it to the gwen stacy pic he posted from the comics and unlike Howard from the pics we have seen of her since the letterman show,Geller screams Gwen Stacy.She would have so much brought the character of gwen stacy to life like J.K simmons did with J Jonah Jameson.
