Dr. Strange Versus Shazam

Started by MJOILNIR4 pages

Strange with a weeks prep😱 I know Shazam is powerful but Strange with a weeks prep😱 Man look what Strange has done in the past. Yea Shazam took on Specter, but then again he lost. Strange has taken on gods in thier own real and won. Its hard to imagine anyone short of a abstract beating Strange with a weeks prep. Just look at whats he's done. Thiers plenty of proof.

Strange has beat big G, the in-betweener, Death, Dormammu, and actually stalemated the IG for a while. Hell he's beaten abstracts. Imagine what he can do with a weekeek2

Who wins this battle of magic users.

Shazam typically has more power at his disposal than base-level Strange does. Shazam has the power of numerous gods at his disposal from the get go. Strange has to seriously power-up to achieve the level of power that Shazam has all the time.

However

Given the scenario presented here, Shazam has no chance whatsoever. None. Nada. Zilch. Strange benefits from preparation moreso than any character in comics, and I'm including Thanos in that estimate. Strange could've become omnipotent 10 times over in the timespan presented in Thanos-Quest. The scans of the Shuma-Gorath battle don't really do justice to the magnitude of that victory. Imagine that he took out one of Lovecraft's nastier alien menaces and assumed it's power, if that helps. Strange had abdorbed so much magical might that if he had returned directly to our world it would have been destroyed like a moth in a bug-catcher. There's almost no one that Strange couldn't defeat with a week 's prep. If nothing else, that's enough time to cast the 7 Gates of Chaos and destroy the universe.

In an unprepared fight on neutral ground, I'd say Shazam 3/5. If they were on the Rock of Eternity, I'd go up to Shazam 4/5. Strange still gets the 1/5 if he can absorb Shazam's energy. If he could execute a Conjurer's Sphere within the Rock, Shazam would be done, but that's a difficult move and one he seldom uses.

The scenario proposed is not a fair fight.

very very well said. its good to see someone who knows comic hero's other then most of these fanboys

dr strange has the most potential of any character in the marvel universe. and the writers use this to their advantage. strange goes from beating someone like death to losing to someone he shouldn't. shazam is one of the most powerful magic users in the dc universe and on the surface one would think that he would win this fight easily. i agree with mighty adam, it is nice to see someone who looks beyond and understands exactly what strange could do.

ill put it like this remember the black adam vs spector fight yeah that was the same deal.

i saw the scan were spector said something like i can draw magic from anywere or anything even you wizard then he proceded in kicking the H3ll out of shazam.

Thanks Guys.

Seriously though, Strange beats up Dormammu and Mantis, beats Moondragon at telepathy, gets back up after punches from the Juggernaut, stands up to Warlock with the Infinity Gauntlet, talks back to the Living Tribunal, eats Elder Gods and steals their power, turns into Eternity...

!

and still gets babes like Clea and Topaz.

He's not so tough is you catch him flat-footed, but when he gets going, watch out.

that’s just saying Strange wins......... he can utilize forces as great as Eternity.

A prep Strange is above skyfather level fo so

Strange wins the majority. he stailmated the Warlock with the IG for a while. A week prep is too much.

how much prep makes this a good fight? lets see if we can get this competitive. maybe a day or six to 12 hours. how much? lets see when it gets interesting.

strange with prep is above wolverine.
im pretty sure strange will win.

Strange wins this.

A fair fight? No prep for Strange!

If Strange were packing one of his more potent artifacts, say the Wand of Watoomb or maybe the Book of the Vishanti, we might call it a fair fight.

It'd all hinge on weather Shazam could KO strange early before he can powerup to ludicrous levels or steal Shazam's power. If so, Shazam wins. If not, Strange wins.

WHY?

Dr. Strange wins this battle easy. With a week of prep he could take out anybody. I would even say he could take out an entire team.

LMAO!

a week???!!!!
thats unfair!!!!!
shazam is extremely powerful and all, but, in this scenario he loses, a better scenario would be: strange has the week of prep, he enter the rock of eternity... damn!!!! shazam was prepping for spectres raid, in a nutshell strange gets the week, shazam get the prep he got in DV.

You guys are nuts

WHY?

Two reasons:

1) Strange can call upon even greater power than Shazam can, it just takes time. That's not minimizing the enegies Shazam has at his disposal, Strange can just get more.

2) One of the ways Strange routinely beats beings that are far more powerful than himself is by tapping into, stealing, absorbing, or otherwise making his own his opponents' magical energies. He's done this many times to everyone from other wizards to far bigger fish than Shazam. A prime example is the Shuma-Gorath victory back on page one.

Once again, Shazam is definitely more powerful than Strange is day-to-day, but Strange's ability to powerup, even mid-battle, would make DBZ characters jealous.

That's why.

We're not nuts, we've just read some Dr. Strange comics. If you just know the Doc from his various guest appearances, it's understandable that you might think him overmatched here.
