By the way, language evolves, and this is how languages evolve, regardless of by ignorance or not.

A word to the not-so-wise, Cola. Don't say nobody cares, and then go making such an ill-informed comment as calling it evolution. It's linguistic creationism, if anything. It's no evolution in any sense of the term.

If you don't care enough to stop being ignorant and using it incorrectly, if you want to further employ your right to say it, then I'll employ my right to keep clarifying that you're wrong. Don't like it? Stop misusing the term. We've been over this.

Latin is considered Dead language because it's not in use and therefore won't change. That is why Latin is used as a basis for so many sceintific names (though I'm sure someone as intelligent as you would already know that). That is why languages in use are usually not used for scientific naming, because the meannig can change through constant use.

Emo no longer means what you want it to mean because so many people use it in a different sense. I retract the use of the term 'Evolution' because I was wrong, it's not that, but it is still a change that happens in languages that are in use and whether born from ignornace or not, it is still there and will continue to be there until the people and actions it is used on fade from mainstream view. They won't change regardless of how much you constantly reinform them.

Nothing has changed except the genre doesn't exist anymore. Emo still means what it meant back in the day, to any music fan with intellect or credibility anyway.

No, you're wrong, Cola. It hasn't changed the word "emo", at all.

What has happened is simple: Stupid journalists realised that no "kids" had the presense of mind to realise what emo truly is/was, so they slapped the word on any random genre. Now kids take that as emo, and it's not.

There is no second meaning for emo. Emo means what it has always meant and today it is irrelevent. It has one meaning and that is extinct. Anyone who says otherwise has no appreciation or knowledge of musical history.

How am I wrong? You're proving my point. Anyone with any remote knowledge and common sense knows what happened with the word, and knows it deserves absolutely no recognition whatsoever. Because it's a bastard title. You don't get that, therefore your kind are the kind I refer to.

I've listened to you, and you're not saying anything different to the million others who believe they can wage the debate. You are proposing that emo simply has a new meaning because stupid kids have decided so. Literally, maybe, but not credibly.

Emo has always meant emotive hardcore; a genre that is all but dead, really. It has always meant that and it always will. I would suggest, with no offense, that you do a little legitimate studying.
