whoa!...what thread am I in?
Favorite spaceship? Edit?
If I could edit Star Wars...always felt I didn't get the shot/angle I wanted during the pod races...I think they did a poor job with the default camera.
I remember thinkin I wasn't able to get into it as much as I thought I could have. Didn't feel involved enough.
I think the camera should've been pulled back a bit. The default frame was right above the engines...but the viewer should be in the pod with Ani...or whatever driver.
You see the driver and the pod in the other shots...then you're waiting to get the point of view of the driver, but you get taken to a super close up shot...and there's a disconect...pissed me off.
I think it's a great sequence though.
"Rrraaarrrr!!"
I really liked the arena execution sequence in AOTC...probably my fave sequence. Next to the podrace it was the longest running single sequence scene of the trilogy...the fact that there was no real music for almost most of it made it pretty cool (just horns and drums in the background).
Total nod to Harryhausen
Favourite single scene was probably the tripped out Tipoca City doors spiralling open to see Taun We and Obi in to Lama Su's office.
My jaw dropped.
The arena was compelling, but Genosis was superior.
Kamino, likely my favorite planet and culture in all of star wars. Those sequences were aslo amazing, not to mention Kenobi-s brilliant fight with Jango.
I saw AOTC spoiler free. When I fist saw it, I thought "oh sh*t" about 4 times in the movie.
THATS impressive. I have still never seen a movie in theaters more times than AOTC.
AOTC was just brilliant.
Artistic genius...saw it in a first class DLP Cinema on opening day. Was blown away...saw it again the very next day...was like looking at one moving masterpiece after another.
Too bad that by the third time I watched it I finally caught on to how crap a movie it was! 😮
My guess is Lucas felt this was his last chance to focus the majority of his energies on the visual element before he'd have to get serious with a story (with ROTS)...and what a beautiful pallette he painted.

✅ AOTC took the cake in that reasepect. Of ALL the films.
I agree. I think it's easily the most visually accomplished film ever made (in terms of sheer scale and scope of production design/art direction) in getting the creator's vision on screen...(The Fifth Element coming in a close second).

Except its not a crap film. Its as crappy as the rest of the Star Wars movies.
...really? Even the OT ones? I think the OT films are pretty sound. Menace ain't too bad either.
