Illegally downloading is mostly that. Illegal.

Not wrong as such, but I think the artists deserves some recognition for what they do. Then again it's probably mostly the Pop Shit MTV tells people to like that is downloaded. So, whatever.

Pretty much yeah. all the music I have on my PC is from popular artists.

The only song I have had from an un-signed band came to me from a member of the band, who I work with..

Ohh dont get me wrong.. If it is a band that I really like I will buy the CD.. I just use downloads as kind of a tester.. I get one or two songs if they are good I will pay for the full CD.

Of course it's wrong that's why it's illegal. But I think TM makes some sense. It's hardly like Coldplay are short of a few bob.

Well, not everything that is illegal is wrong. Objectively even less so than subjectively.

Also, The Brian Jonestown Massacre has almost all their albums free to download on their website. Which is pretty very cool.

Though they make very excellent music. And would deserve some monetary recognition.

I only illegally download if I cannot get it from elsewhere on the net, like iTunes or a friend.

I illegally download games and Music, DVD´s I hire out from the rental shop and copy it If I like it. Top movies I watch in the cinema.

# Games:- because Ive bought so many which had a nice cover, good review but either didn´t work or were total and utter crap. The only exeptions are ID Software games which I spend money on because they are all quality.

#Music:- I download the odd song I like on the radio, most CD dompilations have 1 or two songs which are good the rest are crap. Here there are also exeptions, bands I know make quality like U2, Depeche mode etc (its a matter of taste) I buy.

When I see movie stars being mega rich, havnin 4 Ferrari´s etc just because they can act, a proffession which wouldn´t get you anywhere in a sane world, It doesn´t make me feel quilty at all about ripping the odd DVD.

Musicians who work hard and create thier own stuff deserve a bit of recognition, seeing as music is inspirational in many ways so I buy thier CD´s. Boy/girl groups are a joke and can´t even play an instrument so they deserve naff all.

i illegally download and its a good way to discover stuff you may have missed
i use limewire and when i was at a loose end once and i put in THE WHO on search to check them out and BANG now they are one of my fave groups
i could have bought a couple of cds and not liked em

the minus point is my cd collection finished round aug 05
but like someone said elswhere im not going to lose any sleep that some mtv cribs artist is going to lose a few bob
as for movies if it aint something i want to see on the big screen
ill watch a copy but only if its a top notch copy
defeats the object of buying a nice system
