Well, I finally saw Twilight, got it as an early Easter gift. It was all right. I'm sure everyone will tell me if I read the books I'll be hooked, so I'm going to go from Twilight the movie to New Moon the book and see. I still don't see the appeal, and I'm someone who enjoys vampire stories as well as coming of age stories... Oh well. Robert Pattinson? Meh. Edward Cullen? Meh. Poor guy, repeating high school all the time, unable to sleep, unable to cry. At least he's not like the traditional vampires and has to be invited into places before entering them. It's cool he can go wherever he wants.

eh. do NOT judge Twilight by the movie, because there were SO many things in the movie that were bad. but i still loved it...mainly cuz of Peter Facinelli, but thats BESIDES the point! willo, I really think you should READ Twilight first because that is really were the magic is. :-)

Well, this happened with Harry Potter, too. I saw the first movie, read the second book and got so hooked I've now read all the books before I saw any of the other movies and am officially a Harry Potter fan, so I'm going to try the same formula with Twilight. I've heard New Moon is the weakest of the 4 books, but I've also heard that about Breaking Dawn, so Eclipse must be great. P

Okay, stupid question. I see your sig, so going by that, does Peter Facinelli play Carlisle? I was really fascinated by his character. Does the book explain his origins and how he became a vampire and the circimstances that made him turn Edward and his wife and then the others? Does it say what time period Emmet, Rosalie, Alice, and Jasper are from? I really liked the family unit. That was original. And showing off their kitchen to Bella? Super cool. I want to just give Esme and Alice huge hugs.

Yes, the book explains that, but I'm not sure if it's in the first one or throughout the series. I'm pretty sure it's the first one, tough.

Yeah peter plays the lovely carlisle! And yes it does. Alice was born in 1901 about. You learn about her human life (or lack thereof) in the book but not the movie. Rosalie and Emmett were both born in 1915, Jasper in 1843. You learn about most of their stories in eclipse. And yes, eclipse is amazing! New moon is the weak point, and twilight is the classic(like curse of the black pearl status lol)

Lol. Only this forum would make POTC comparisons to give me better understanding! So Eclipse is the best one? But if I want to appreciate the series, I probably should still read New Moon, right? I think a lot of people don't like that one so much because Edward's not in it for long periods of time and seeing as I'm not an Edward fan (yet) maybe that won't bother me much.

I wouldnt say eclipse is the best one. I feel twilight is def. the best one. But for me, eclispe and breaking dawn are pretty much tied at 2nd. But new moon is definitely worth reading (specifically for the end IMHO)

You have to read the entire series for things to make sense. But it's all good.
