You know what I'm thinking! The compass didn't point at Jack at the beginning. The writers keep emphasizng that its what you want most in the world not what your heart desires. So, Liz didn't know she wanted Jack at that point. So that's my point. Because she was obviously able to change whwere it pointed by thinking it because she said she wanted to find Will and Jack said by finding the chest so it pointed to the chest. I feel like I'm not making sense....
