you can over oversimplify anything until its story becomes pointless and cliche.
i agree. same with mgs and all those other "plot heavy games". theres no depth at all its just action movie cliches.
no. theres plenty of depth. you just have to be able to see it. its not my fault the only thing you see when you look at halo is stuff blowing up.
you cant ever be objectively wrong when it comes to taste. ever.
you should try to be less judgemental about things.
MGS' plot is convoluted as hell, but it still retains more depth and is a thousand times more interesting than Halo, since it at the very least has a good cast of characters who you can give a shit about. Other than Johnson and Cortana(And that is mostly because she is oddly sexy), is there a SINGLE character you can claim to give a shit about? Sure, Arbiter and Chief are pretty badass and cool, but nothing special about them at all.
Fallout 3 was known for having a great plot? News to me. It had a decent plot, but the game is not considered to be plot-heavy at all, its main goal was immersion into the world, not a plotline.
You see, the huge difference is that Halo's plotline is little more than what I said. Halo 1 had little plot, Halo 2 had a decent plot, being the only one that tried to, and Halo 3 just said "**** it" and just reverted back to Halo 1's "KILL t3H ALIENZZZZ!!!" plotline.
Bioshock actually has a good plotline, it is able to hold a level of depth without becoming needlessly convoluted, something most games cannot say.
MGS only having action movie cliches? Overrated as it may be, MGS still retains a signifigant level of depth in its plotline, although the plot is needlessly convoluted.
Oh? HUMOR ME. Point out the so-called "depth." And please do not bring up how it is a display of humanity's struggle for survival and that BS, heard it before, it's a constantly used concept, only Halo has nothing else to keep it interesting.
Sure you can.
Someone saying that the acting in Uwe Boll's Alone in the Dark for instance is objectively wrong.
