Greatest Scenes of all time.

Name some of those timeless scenes that everyone knows, or name some of your favorite scenes.

One of mine is the Climax scene to Requiem for a Dream.

Pretty much all of the scenes in Requiem for a Dream.

I also like the Vincent Cassel's "Laser Dance" in Oceans Twelve, as well as the entire heist in 11.

The "Same Person" Scene from Fight Club.

David Dunn's crime-fighting scene from "Unbreakable"

The lightsaber duel of Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

The Departure of Boromir from "The Fellowship of the Ring"

The Climax from "Memento"

The Climax from "V for Vendetta"

those are just some off the top of my head.

The "Same Person" Scene from Fight Club.

Where he fights himself, then shoots himself?

the opening of saving private ryan would have to be in there

the girl in the red coat in schindlers list

the finale of the usual suspects

and a personal one that i will never forget the intensity of when watching it is in "crash" when the asian store owner is pointing the gun at the mexican locksmith and his daughter runs out to him cause she has the "magic cloak" on

The rain scene in Road to Perdition.
The diner scene in Mulholland Drive.

I also like the Vincent Cassel's "Laser Dance" in Oceans Twelve, as well as the entire heist in 11.

I still need to see Oceans 12 just for Vincent Cassel, so liking the sound of this 'laser dance' scene!

The ending of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - Pure, cinematic poetry, a wonder to watch.

The rape scene in Irreversible - Brutal and effective, no one can deny the power of this scene.

The 'one take' fight in Oldboy

The introduction to Leatherface in TCM, still sends chills through me after watching the movie over a hundred times.

The finale of Paths of Glory, one of the most moving and emotional scenes I'll ever see.

The jarring death of our heroes in Bonnie and Clyde.

When Danny sees the little girl ghosts in The Shining.

double post

all the scenes from LOTR are great

I suppose I didn't really word that limited to just one scene...

I guess I meant, from the moment The Narrator enters his hotel room to find Tyler, up until the end.

I'll never forget the "ear" scene from Reservoir Dogs.

Ah yes, the ending to Cuckoo's nest, excellent.

-Dennis Hopper and Christopher Walken in True Romance, discussing the "origin" of Sicilians. (One of my particular favorites)

-The opening scene of Jaws. We never see the shark kill the woman, but it terrified the entire world.

-Alien. The Chestburster. 'Nuff said.

-The storming of the beach scene from Saving Private Ryan. Brutal, graphic, emotional, and real. All the things that are war.

-The end of Monty Python's Life of Brian. Everyone is crucified and singing "Always look on the bright side of Life". Classic.

Hmm, Lets see...
The rain scene in "Road to Perdition" is great.
The Ride of the Valkeries scene in "Apocolypse Now" As well as the Kurtz killing at the very end.
Cliche I know, but the baptism scene of the Godfather was awesome.

(I'm using lines of the script instead of the scene numbers/names)

"No, I am your father" The Empire Strikes Back!
"Stop, this is bat country" Fear adn Loathing in Las Vegas
"I'm the evil man, but I'm trying real hard to be the shephard" Pulp Fiction.
"I love the smell of Napalm in the morning" Apocalypse Now

And finally the scene in Fight Club where he beats himself up.

I love that scene.

Mace Windu's death in RotS

Great scenes, eh? I've got a few:

Blade Runner - The roof-top scene. Amazing to look at, amazing to listen to - "I've seen things you people...wouldn't believe..."

Rushmore - The after-performance dinner scene. Comedic perfection - "I like the nurse's uniform, guy..."

Swingers - The phone call(s) to the girl he just met at the club. Note perfect, and heart-breakingly true-to-life.

The Last Of The Mohicans - The cliff-running scene at the end. Simply breathtaking.

The Two Towers - Helm's Deep when Gandalf et al turn up. "Oh, f*ck yes!"

The Matrix - At the end. When Neo gets up. Cool, cool, cool, cool, cool.

Spartacus - The obvious one: "I'm Spartacus..." - as below.

Gladiator - "I'm Maximus Decimus Meridius..." - as above.

The Princess Bride - "All right. Where is the poison?" - always excellent.

There are loads more, but I can't...think...of...th...them...now.

Wouldn't the obvious choice from The Princess Bride be the "You killed my father, prepare to die" scene? That was just great, can't believe I forgot it.
