More nonsense from the latest in a long, long, line of idiot Home Secretaries"As we face the threat of mass murder we have to accept that the rights of the individual that we enjoy must, and will be, balanced with the collective right of security and the protection of life and limb that our citizens demand." - John Reid, Home Secretary
From Our Orwellian Translation Unit: 'We are going to use the excuse of bogus terrorist plots to take your freedoms away'.

do you think its ok for this to happen or do you think its just an excuse and another step to take more rights from us?
another stupid idea that will no doubt be laughed out of parliment as it deserves
they've all but scraped the idea of all in one passport/ID cards with all manner of eye retina scans and finger prints and DNA crap because, for one, they cant even get the most basic information systems to work correctly (see the soham murders for details) and the cost was going to be in the 10's of billions
the only security related issue that seems executable and justified is to DNA sample every newborn child in the country
not only would you help identify "terrorists" but you would be able to identify the perpetrators of almost any physical crime (as opposed to electronic) because it is virtually impossible to commit a crime without tranfer of DNA evidence

I'm going to send the NASAssins after you. The Moon Landings did happen, 9/11 really was a terrorist attack, and George Bush is not Darth Sidious. Sorry, the world's not a conspiracy. Have fun being paranoid.
They're just taking fingerprints.

If I wanted to go across sea's in a timely manner, yes I am being forced too.
You're not being forced to. It's your choice to take a plane over to where you want ot go. If you dont want to be fingerprinted..you dont have to be. Just dont take a plane.
If this thread was "you must be fingerprinted before you are allowed to eat food" then I would understand..but to say someone is forcing you to do it is just stupid.

😂KR, I love you for that.
What was funny about what he said...he is making fun of an obvious threat to our society, the Government has started to take thinger prints when we boerd planes...how long till they want us to carry some form of identification which can tell them where we live and what nationality we are? How long I ask you? How Long? Hell, before you know it we will be asked to fill out security papers when we travel into other countries...
But seriously D, so they have started taking finger prints when you boerd a plane...it's hardly restricting my rights of travel...after all I can go to France, to Belgium to Luxemburg to Germany to Poland to the Slovak Republic and through Austria into Italy and then take the boat to Spain...all without even being asked for an E1-11 card...I can travel more now freely than ever before...

Fingerprinting will help to positively identify every passenger. If you have nothing to hide, then taking a whole 10 seconds to register your thumb on a scanner shouldn't be a problem, or a violation of your civil rights.
the time it takes isn't the issue though is it?
it's what information will be available to some minimum wage airport security clown that is the issue
