And why does everyone on this forum seem to think that they're the only ones who think critically about their religious beliefs? If I bothered to get upset at condescension, I would've been gone from this forum ages ago.

Ok, here we go: "I DON'T HAVE THAT ANSWER!" Atleast not now. But, you can't condemn religions, just because they don't hand out answers immediatly.

Individual difference and all, but at the very least, saying "I don't know that God exists" would appear to be an i don't know that religious people don't say.

There are people in the Bible who wondered that sometimes. Who doesn't?

I know I have.

And you're a believer, right?

Yes

Looks like inimalist was not entirely right this time then.

Appears so. In fact, that is why I consiter myself a "Contemplator" Because I often find my self thinking for hours about the subject of religion (Among other subjects like Science, psycology, etc.). Sometimes it doesn't allow me to go to sleep, and I end up falling asleep in school the next day... 🙁

Poor guy.

That is one of the problem with most religious doctrines is that they are not seeking the answers but believe they already have them. They don’t seek the answer to how man and the universe came to be because they believe that the creator made it all.

Doctrines cannot seek.

😂

well, seeing as I expressed very clearly in my post that I was dealing with religions as organizations and not as individual beliefs, I can't see how I was wrong, as his personal belief is subject to his experience.

Well, organisation cannot "know" anything or speak. It's usually...

Details? Yeah. Nitpicking? Yeah. But still...

no, you are right, there are difficulties in drawing the lines between individuals and cultures.

However, I would never have expected to find this post modernism in Religious communities. You do realize that the final conclusion of this logic is that religions don't exist, and that someone who believes in Mohammed as the reincarnation of Buddha sitting on top of mount olympus can be a Christian?

I'm fine with this, and if you are really saying post-modernism, all the power to you. Good luck with the inability to ever draw any conclusions about anything.

Which is what makes life interesting. It does force us to keep communicating to enlighten ourselves. Which is fine with me.

indeed, the review of what we think by our peers seems like something that might have come up before...

Ok, that makes absolutly no logical sense at all. In fact, religions can be argued logically, the only problem it that the secular world refuses to listen. However the same can be said for some religious people. Give me a miniute.

Religious people also sometimes refuse to listen.

I said that.
