If you walk up to a flame, do you have to intervene to keep your hand out of the fire? If you do, then you do not have control over your hand. What I was more picturing was letting the universe go about its own business. It would be more akin to letting a toddler walk around the house. He goes over to the flame, but I would intervene to keep him from hurting himself.

Divine Intervention can only exist if the Universe is separate and independent from God....If God and the Universe are one, or at least intertwined, then there is no "intervention"....
