I suggested he watch a youtube vid to show him how to do the make-up properly, that's not being a puppet, that's taking advice.
I wear make-up all the time and still watch make-up tutorials for certain looks. I'm not a puppet, I'm just getting advice from someone who does it better than me.

Nothing wrong with experimentation, but if someone dresses like a surfer and talks like a surfer, but who has never picked up a surfboard, thats just stupid.

I said I'm experimenting with styles. Not trying to be anything. Experimenting. I generally just wear and dress like whatever I see and like. Mostly hoodies and jeans.
