I think you'll find quite a lot of girls will say they dislike how they look.
Yet if you agreed with them about it/made a comment, you'd probably be writhing on the floor in pain clutching your manberries.
Generally girls like that will disagree with positive comments made about them because they genuinely dont believe it's true, however subconsciously it'll make them feel a bit better about themselves.

Also, I do not completely buy into the "I'm so ugly" from girls. Some girls genuinely believe it and some girls don't and just say it for attention (Same with dudes.)
