Edit - mikeydude, For a comparable price range but much better sound, go with Denon's AH D2000 or AH-D1100. For less than half the price, you can get the AH-D1100s and they have much better sound than the Studio headphones by "Beats by Dr. Dre." Someone like Kaibs can afford to buy the Dre's and he also has a reputation to keep up in his profession making his choice of style over quality (by price) a lot more difficult to make. The Beats headphones series are still quite good, but you are not getting what you pay for, when it comes to the audio world: you're buying a brand, style, and status with the Beats series, not superior quality and sound.

And @ your other comment DDM lol it's not exactly like that. I bought the Beats before they came out on the market I knew they were a bit bass heavy which is why I bought them. If he's just doing casual listening, and wants something that's better than most headphones out there that aren't over 400 dollars they're a good investment. The custom things that come wtih them are nice, and the trs tip is gold which is the second best conductor, monster does make the cable, which is half brand half quality. If you know how to make your own xlr you can make your own trs. but that aside Mikey they're a good investment IMO.
