My mom bought a bunch of antique doors from Belgium in the hopes that she'd sell them for a profit to people building homes. Unfortunately...well you know what happened to the housing market. Not to mention most people don't care about having real antiques, only the appearance of them so they'll just copy the designs of real antiques and have manufacturers "ugly" them up to look old. Now we have a half dozen doors lying around gathering dust.

But I like DDD's explanation better, so I'll say that's the truth.
