From my point of view, he's talking about a love between two non-related partners. I would never feel this way about anyone but a couple of girls, non-relative, my ex not included.

Its an Example. It is better to have the love of a mother and experience it than to never have it at all.

Basically I am siding with Robtard that not having a mothers love is worse.

I didn't mean to compare my situation to yours. Only to share my situation, however I did end up comparing. It was wrong for me to do that.

Tennyson was talking about his late friend Arthur. He spends quite a lot of time crying about it to the point where it's not unfair to think there was romantic feelings there.
