But, but...they were like brother and sister!!!! shock

J.K. Rowling seems a bit like the George Lucas of the book world, if I may say so.

Oh yeah, definitely a lot of Twitter reactions comparing Lucas and Rowling's "should've done this" mentality.

If I launch into a rant on what should've happened & why I won't shut up for an hour, so I'll just say regarding H/G: No buildup, no real chemistry, curveball that got fouled into left field.

Yeah, also, like, sure date Ginny and shit, but why not have him marry someone completely different. A lot of people don't marry someone they went to school with....

At any rate, I'm looking forward to the digitally remastered re-release of the books in 20 years.

Nah, that would've just created a massive, massive anarchy.

The "who's marrying who" discussions were right up there with "who dies" and "what happens". If she just randomly threw them with people who had little to no back-story or buildup (ahem, gtfo Ginny), can you imagine the insane amount of fan outrage that would've happened?

After the final pairings were all but set in stone in book 6, Rowling called all the H/Hr supporters "delusional". This created a huge ass rift because all the R/H supporters went all zealot and starting shitting all over us and really soured the experience over books 6/7.

Why the Final Pairings Suck

I dont mind the final ending. I mean, yea it doesnt make much sense, but I appreciated that what people thought should happen, didnt. That being said, she kind of caved to the whole been downplaying the H/G thing for every book and then throws them together with very little explanation or further character development. To me, it felt like the last books were a bit rushed and she just wanted to tie off the loose ends and finish them rather than put real thought into the story from that point forward. *shrug*

I just can't bring myself to agree with the "predictable, therefore boring" crowd. It'll always sound like a cop-out for me.

Books 6 and 7 had a vague feeling that she was concentrating on the major plot points previously outlined rather than the true 'bringing the universe to life' magic and character development that was so prevalent in books 1-5.

Anyways how've you been Kevin?

Been good. Starting school again in fall.

I've been lurking here periodically since my birthday email, mostly reading old debates in comic vs. They're so interesting sometimes.

Digging my new beanie.

At first I read that as "Greek".

Understandable haha.

I explored a new part of the forum. YAY. But do I wanna show what I look like... Maybe I'll just describe...

I'm blue, I stand eight feet tall, my ears are pointed and my hair is tied up in a plat that reaches my but. My tail helps me keep balance and some compare my nose to a cat. I have great muscle tone and can jump from tree to tree with ease.

Well that was fun.

This was 21 weeks five days. 🙂 I'm now 22 weeks, so a bit behind what I thought BUT, further along than they thought since I'm barely showing.

What a cute eye.

Congrats on the bun in the oven! That's awesome to hear.

My daughter will be 10 in August. I can hardly believe how fast time goes by with your kids.

Thanks so much! And time really does fly. 10? She's well on her way to becoming a teenager! 🙂
