Everyone on that show thought they were just a little more special than everyone else because they were an officer on the Federation's Flagship. Picard especially because he was French with a British accent and a classical education. Riker was a Chad alpha, Worf was Klingon and they all are like that. Crusher was a doctor so had a built in air of superiority, Data was a wannabe for the whole series then got an emotion chip and that kicked in the 'I'm better than all of you' system routine.
