Rather than just crippling such a lovely resource in a Metallica vs Napster fashion, why not better serve this forum community by providing a potentially more legal grounds for this threads continued existence. I suggest the requirement of discusson about each object that is linked to, under this thread. That would thus allow us a little more freedom, perhaps under fair use laws. Nobody is unlawfully reproducing these images necessarily...and none of us here are making any commercial or personal gain in tems of monetary benifit.

By forcing debate and discussion we can at least bend the laws toward the favor of the users. There are far more illegal things that have gone down on the internet If torrentspy.com has been able to escape legal responsibility by claiming asylum based on not actually hosting pirated material, then I think this lovely site can at least do the same. So long as the scans themselves aren't hosted here or sold for profit, I honestly don't see the problem. Any legal fall back would be on sites that allowd the hosting or users who uploaded the material. And even that is on vauge chance. So please, don't close this thread just yet.

I like the spirit of your argument, but there's some holes in it. Citing 'more illegal' things on the internet doesn't justify this. And yes, regardless of whether or not we're making money on this practice doesn't matter. The point is that they could argue that the comic companies are losing money from the practice. That may or may not be true, but that's at least the argument.

There honestly isn't a problem....until there is one (if you get my meaning). Which is why a more proactive approach to covering our butts is in order here.

My apologies to those who wish to see this continued. There's still plenty of stuff out there for those willing to look....I just feel uncomfortable having a directory promoting it.

Closing.
