My top 5 prison flicks:

1. American Me (Best prison film ever made, imho)

2. American History X

3. Animal Factory

4. Blood In, Blood Out

5. Escape from Alcatraz

Dammit, you beat me to it.

Both Blood in, Blood out and American Me, were really shot in San Quentin and Folsom prisons, with real convicts as extras.

Notice that they both had white-boy cholo characters who had a leg shot off and got prosthetic limbs?

I really didn't like American Me. Had some decent parts, but wasn't engaging in the least, for me. The part where they set the guy on fire was pretty ****ing awesome, though.

Orale guey! Yeah, William Forsythe did a good job playing a whiteboy cholo. Ive known a few in my time, and his performance was dead-on. Forsythe's accent, attitude, and demeanor was completely Chicano. On that same note, Cary Hiroyuki-Tagawa (Shang Tsung from the MK movie) played a great Asian cholo.

That movie is also known as "The Mexican Goodfellas" and understandibly so.

Yeah that scene was pretty dope, ey. I remember seeing American Me on TV a while back and during that scene I noticed that they didn't censor the part when he says "Pinche maiate".

😂

I wonder if they had spanish speakers at the network who would tell them?

I've seen two versions of Blood In, Blood Out too, one where only the long sentences are translated into english, and another where every little word from heffe, to vato, to ese, was put in english.

The Green Mile.

American History X was a great dramatic prison film. Some parts were disturbing like when he kicks the guys head to the curb and when he gets jumped in the shower.

Con Air ( With Nicolas Cage) was good too.

Personally I hated the Green Mile, it was slow, and strange.

blood in blood out. i love that movie...

The first season of Prison Break started off great but it seems to have gotten really crazy and unrealistic

Blood In, Blood Out
Shawshank Redemption
Prison Break, not the very best show on tv but pretty entertaining.

I love Prison Break-can't get enough of it!
