"Actually Thor can increase the power of his lightning. It was actually stated in Thor-#421 that he can increase the lightning effectiveness ten Thousand folds. An excellent example would be when Thor defeated Prime by increasing single lightning bolt a hundred folds, and proceeded to blast him with it. Now this is speculation, but this leads me to believe that Thor can move as fast as any bolt he commands, and when he can increases a single bolt of lightning that moves at the speed of light 100 fold this means the lightning can now move at 100 times the speed of light meaning Thor should be able to move at 100 times the speed of light.
That and the fact that it has been stated in Thor #393, That his speed transcends both tome and space, and when he was able to keep up with Hermes the god of speed. When he fought Hela it was even stated by her that his speed is beyond comprehension.
However this is pure speculation, although Thor has never been given a max speed."

It isn't just speculation.
You are right.
He can do these things, has done these things, has stated he can do these things. He can pretty much do whatever he needs to do. As long as he keeps his head long enough to do it.
