The problem is that the strike is all about money.

I know.

That's why I think the problem will be resolved, because they will lose a lot more money if it isn't.

The thing is that a lot of the owners are losing money if there was a season so it doesn't really matter to them if there is a season or not.

Such a shame to see Yao Ming retire.

Injuries really impede a player's potential.
Just look at what happened to Iverson and McGrady.
They would've been equal (or better) than Kobe if they stayed in tip-top shape. Oh well.

Here's hoping this lockout ends soon.
I don't want to skip watching this year's season.

Iverson, in his prime, WAS arguably better than Kobe

lol

Iverson in his prime was a better scorer than Kobe (maybe), that's about it.

Kobe prime > Iverson prime

Kobe now > Iverson now

Kobe's career > Iverson's career

Kobe>Iverson easily

Talks broke off again

Stern is a damm idiot

Labor talks between NBA owners and players once again broke down and no future meetings are currently scheduled. This whole situation is really becoming more disheartening by the day. Both sides are just turning this into a pissing contest at this point. Anyone here think we're going to have a season? If so, about when do you predict it will start?

I had hope at the start but I'm beginning to lean to the side of no season. I was really excited about the potential of this season too with so many young teams and players starting to show promise.

It's both sides that are idiots. Not just Stern.

The NBA player are greedy, how dare they be so greedy in such troubling times. I will never watch another NBA game again. The other major sports have salary caps, why shouldnt the NBA?

NBA labor negotiations to resume today...any chance something positive will come out of this one?

I hate this superteam bullshit, but Stern doesn't really have any right to stop a trade like that, honestly.

Exactly. I'm not against any team's management trying to make blockbuster deals. Atleast they are attempting to acquire these players by trades.

I hate Stern.

He ruined a deal that was a good bargain even for the Hornets.

i don't get why stern is acting hitler-ish about this trade. the lock proved that the NBA is more business than sports, this move by adolf stern proves it to be more so. its not like the lakers are gonna acquire chris paul just by signing him, like how miami got lebron. there was a trade in place. now that i think about it, maybe he should just spend the short season in new orleans and just go free agent next season.

and what the f*ck was mitch kupchak thinking trading odom for a 4th round pick to dallas? talk about a retard moment..

While it was Stern who stopped the trade, it was actually the small market owners who wanted it done.

Everybody forgets that a commissioner works for the owners and if the majority of the owners want something done like this, Stern usually has to abide by them.
