Well, Lebron will play like he deserves MVP but without getting one of the top 2 seeds in the East, he will not get it. If Miami can pull through without Shaq and then the new guys re-adjust to playing with Shaq and the Heat is #1 in the east (maybe #2), then Wade will probably get MVP. In the west, I see the Spurs running away with most wins which will put Duncan in the running. There is still the chance of the Suns doing well and if they stay good without Amare for 4 months and end up tops in the west anyway, they may give it back to Nash. I don't really see anybody on Detroit getting it even if they have the top record, but with Indy it is possible for Jermaine or Artest to receive it. So pretty much it all comes down to predicting who will have the best team record. Although, I believe Lebron and KG will play the best.

I really don't understand what the Mavs were thinking this off-season. They did nothing at all to make themselves better. They still have no real point guard, other than Nowitzki they really have no other clutch player or shooter, Dampier is still suspect at best but still their best and only real option at the center position. To top it all off the only big off season move they made was to trade away Michael Finley, their leader and clutch shooter and second best player to Nowitzki. Remember last season when these two would score at least 20 pts each the Mavs were undefeated. But to top it all off the only thing they got back in return was Doug 'Krusty' rhymes with rusty. I know I spelled his name wrong, did it on purpose of course. C'mon man are u kidding me, I wouldn't have minded them trading away my favorite player as much as long as they would've gotten something better in return, but 'Doug Christie', give me a break. This solid addition, Not!, is suppose to put us over the top all of a sudden. We basically have the same exact team now as before with the addition of Doug Christie...wooohooo....NBA title here we come.

On a positive note I did like the addition of Diop at center as an insurance policy in case Dampier starts playing like crap again and the rest of the West got worse.

Anyway, so much for the big 3, so much for them being my favorite team, I dunno may still root for them, kinda hard to root for San Antonio, although I like they're team, they really don't need it, they're expected to win it all. It's hard rooting for a team like that. I like rooting for a team that still has something to prove, that keeps getting better and is almost there but still has yet to get over the hump. I dunno, maybe I'll root for Phoenix...I'm so confused, this is my first NBA season in which I really don't have a clear cut favorite team. 🙁

Just root for Team Lebron then. They have something to prove, and it didn't happen tonight against the Griz. 🙁

I watched the Spurs rape team LeBron the other day. The champs are looking great even without their new additions. They make the game look so easy, smothering defense and great ball movement.

Well while Dallas didn't do any good moves in the offseason, you can't just keep overhauling your roster year in and year out and expect to actually win the title. At least they have a nucleus that has played together for more than a year.

And they beat the Spurs tonight. 😉

THe Sixers beat the Pacers. shocking Iverson was great again with 29 pints and 12 assists. Webber had 20 somthin points and 9 rebounds. I forgot all about the game. That's probaly why they won. Because i wasn't watching. lol.

I have nothing against the Spurs, but everytime they play i hope they lose. I would love it if they didn't win the Championship. I don't hate them, but i think it would be funny if they didnt wi it all when like everybody in the whole world is saying nobody else has a chance. Charles Barkley after game 1 said that they didnt even have to play the season, and just give it to the Spurs now, lol.

Well its obviously way to early to read much into the standings but a few teams have surprised me. The Clippers are undefeated and playing well, the ageless Sam (Gollum) Cassell and Mobley backcourt is looking good. The Bucks also seem to have great chemistry for a team that hasn't played together much.
Detroit are showing that it wasn't only the coach that got them to the finals 2 yrs in a row (welcome back wuTa btw).
Im glad in a way that Dallas have showed the rest of the NBA that the Spurs aren't invincible. Im still picking the Spurs to repeat but id like them to encounter plenty of resistance along the way.

Yeah I know, right after I complain they beat the Champs and by a lot too...lol...too funny.

Anyway, if they wanted to keep their same nucleus and not make any major moves I have no problem with that but then why not keep Findog?
And for all those who will probably say that Finley sucks or it was his time to go or what ever please keep this in mind...

Although his numbers were down last season compared with his previous seasons, he still managed to average almost 16 pts a game and he shot a career best over 40% from the 3 pt line. and this was all on a bad ankle that ultimately required surgery in the off-season.

i think the finley situation wasnt a question of talent... but money. maybe they want to clear some cap space for a younger player to sign next year... also gives their younger nucleas more playing tme. marquis daniels should become a great player.

Yeah from what i've read Finley was a casualty of the new amnesty tax rule, it was never a question of talent. The Lakers let Brian Grant go to the Suns for the same reason, even though he didnt make much of a contribution last season we could have used another big man to back up Kwame and Mihm. It basically comes down to the owners wanting to save themselves money by not paying the luxury tax that they are over.

Its not like people don't realize that others don't have a chance. Its because that early on in a season you have to look at a team and wonder how things will click with their new team. The Spurs don't really have to adjust to any changes and won last year so they are the clearly the easiest to identify as likely to win. At the end of the season, there will be teams that will be viewed as potential candidates to dethrown them. But at this point in the season, its just hard to identify what teams that includes because all the other teams are a lot more questionable. This Spurs situation is still much different from how people view the Lakers with Malone and GP. That was more of an "if they click" they will be unstoppable. This situation is that the Spurs have already clicked, but it has already been identified that "if" the Heat click with the names on that roster, they could be unstoppable.

On a different note, I think the Pistons are being highly underrated this year. Player wise, everybody on the Pistons are really adjusted to each other. The only difference is Flip for LB but after 2 years in the finals and keeping the same players, I don't see too much issues in Detroit. They are even off to a fast start and they are one of the few legit contenders that still have an undefeated record this year.

myth, how you described the lakers with the 4 hall of famers is pretty much like the heat this year. if they click they''ll be among the top 4 favourites.

cant say i'm underrating detroit, still the team of the east to beat, along with cleveland, indy and miami.

You may not have underrated the Pistons Royke, but the so called experts certainly have. Sure Larry Brown has gone to NY but the Pistons core is still the same and they play to their strengths, that is why they are so tough to beat.
Now i cant imagine the Lakers winning too many games by 20pts this year so in honour of the win against the Nuggets i feel this is necessary....

LAKERS BABY!! 💃

Thats 'kind of' what I was getting at with the Malone/Payton Lakers, but there is a distinct difference. Everybody (generalizing) thought that the Lakers would win it all DESPITE chemistry because their players were so good. Nobody thinks that the Heat will win despite chemistry. A couple years ago, it was more the mindset that good players win championships. The Lakers/Pistons series taught us otherwise and the reasoning is flip/flopped (which to me makes more sense). Now people look for that chemistry as the way to win championships and the Spurs are the only team heading into that season with it proven (Pistons too but there was still questions after LB left). Also keep in mind, that when I said Detroit is being overlooked, I mean in the media, not with much of the individuals here (which still may be true with some individuals though). Also, I don't think Cleveland is one of those "teams to beat." At least not yet, because they still have yet to prove themselves beyond Lebron.

about cleveland, i presonally think they're the fourth best team in the east. i dont see any other east team being able to compete with the west in a finals match up. and that depends how well cleveland play, because we havent seen a whole lot and it'll take time for them to come together as a team. but they have some good potential. perhaps the wiz have some firepower, i think any team with antawn jamison and gilbert arenas is dangerous to play. philly are'nt looking too bad either, webbers been playing well and seems to have found his footing with iverson. pity korver and iggy are'nt quite there yet, but they'll get there soon.

topic poser here... who do you think will just get in the playoffs in the bottom few seeds? its easier top call whos gonna be in the top four so who u reckon in the bottom four?

I know that the Spurs have clicked before, and they will click again this year, I'm just saying i don't want them to win it, not that they shouldn't be picked to win it.
