Wow, is that right? I knew they were one of the more popular teams overseas but i thought in the US they were hated unless you lived in LA. Maybe thats just the way the media portrays it at the moment.
Yeah, Lakers get more bandwagon riders than any other team. During the 2000 Blazer/Laker series you would see 40% Laker fans to 60% Blazer fans IN PORTLAND. Thats why I generally don't like Laker fans (that does not include all obviously because there are some that are true Laker fans forever and that is obviously cool with me).

Did anyone catch that triple OT game between the Sixers and Celtics? Man, that was a sick game! Even Paul Pierce himself was impressed...WoW! 😱
Yeah i did. Thank god I am a Sixers fan because otherwise that would have been another 3 OT game that I missed. Korver is amazing. But i was about to kill Webber when he didn't call that timeout. He got the rebound with 4 seconds left. Takes one dribble, stops, and then throws a soft pass to Iguodala who was right next to him. At least we still won. We were down by 16 too.
Its funny cause it was on ESPN, and the Sixers channel, so i would watch it on the Sixer channel, and if something crazy happened, i would switch to ESPN and watch it again because it is about 5 seconds late.
Anyway, the Blazers/Cavs game was great. LeBron had 18 in the first quarter but then didn't do much after that scoring wise. He did however add 13 rebs, 7 asts, 3 blks, and a stl to his 29 points. Would have had a triple double had Damon Jones hit his wide open shots. This was a rare game that I wasn't sure who I wanted to win. Blazers ultimately will always be my favorite team. However, I'm looking forward to better seasons anyway so I see it right now as "Might as well get the best draft picks possible so if we're going to lose, lose a lot." With Blazers out of the playoff picture, Cavs are the team I will root for over anybody so it would still be nice for me to see Cavs advance seed-wise while Blazers look to get a better draft pick. My main goal of the game since I like both teams for it just to be close, which is exactly what I got. My friends and I kept rooting back and forth once we realized that the game could go to overtime which was exactly what we wanted (then LeBron could have got his triple-double).
Speaking of LeBron, he was officially added to the Olympic team.
That Sixers/Celtics game was great too. I found myself rooting for Sixers over Celtics which even surprised myself. I've always just been a mediocre Pierce fan I don't really care much else about the rest of the team. The Sixers at least have a fan in me with Korver and Iguodala. Although, I've never really liked Webber or Iverson (although I like Iverson more now than I use to now that he learned to pass and no longer plays like Marbury still does).
Another subject to add: The all-star game.
This appears to be the starters:
East:
G: Iverson
G: Wade
F: LeBron
F: Jermaine
C: Shaq
West:
G: Nash
G: Kobe
F: McGrady
F: Duncan or Garnett (Duncan has a slight lead but Garnett is still close enough to pass him. This looks like the only starting spot that has a chance of switching still)
C: Yao
Also: Who would you guys like to see in the dunk contest?
Here is who I think could be good to see:
LeBron (although I don't think he would necessarily be quite a favorite to win, just a good chance of winning)
Iguodala
J.R. Smith
Josh Smith
Mike Wilks (according to the Cavs players, he is the best dunker on the team)
Damien WilkensNate Robinson
Chris Anderson (just kidding, I think I might have to shoot somebody if he is put in the dunk contest again. They also better not put Amare back in it again either)
lol @ Chris "the birdman" Andersen. This is the same dude who said "Its time for the birdman to fly" before he missed like 10 straight dunks in last years contest.
Glad you enjoyed the game Myth, did you have good seats or were you in the nose bleed section?
I'd like to see Nate Robinson in the dunk contest, the dude is 5'9 and makes dunking look easy. Wade and Bron would be awesome but i dont think they will. As a Lakers fan id like to see our rookie Von Wafer in it, that dude has ridiculous ups. It'd be nice to see if Carter still has it but it seems to be the trend now that star players dont go in the contest anymore (Amare excluded).
As for the All star line ups, they look good. Although i would dispute both Snaq and Yao being in the starting line up, but i guess Yao would be the top vote getter with all the votes from China. Lots of highlight reel players so it should be a blast. Players like Nash are gonna have a field day with finishers like Kobe, McGrady, KG and im guessing his boy Marion on the team. He'll probably put up 20+ assists.
They were $10 nose bleeders because I'm poor. It doesn't bother me though. My friend sat 10 rows from the court because he gets tickets for free since he knows just about all the coaches in the league. He's the son of Kip Motta (former scouter and coach) and grandson of Dick Motta (who coaches the Bullets to the NBA championship back in the day). I wanted to get seats with him but he brought his uncle instead.
ROFL
koolz this bynum dude(7foot center 4 LA) whos straight from HS just dunked on shaq! lol! crowd went wild!! then shaq straight forearm-push the kid. lol
shaq = fell off the hardest in nba history
oh...
kob at 17 already, he even scored a 3 on a buzzer beater at the half against wade. lakers up by more than 12 i think
KOOLZ HOLLA @ ME!
😂 I was jumpin out my chair when i heard that Bynum move! Snaq didnt like that at all, shame im only getting the radio feed (but its better than nothing).
Lakers better be careful in the 2nd half, the Heat are gonna come back strong and they have plenty of vets that have been in this situation before.
Good to see Snaq and Kobe hug at the top of the game, no need for the childish shit thats gone down over the years. Classy move by Snaq for a change.
GO LAKERS!!!
