Galactus and Heralds respect thread.

Scans from the non-canon crossover, Darkseid/Galactus.

Galactus arrives on Apokolips, and Darkseid mobilizes the armed forces, to no avail.

Darkseid animates huge sections of the city-scape to attack Galactus. Big G initially struggles with the assault, but as noted he is weak due to his hunger

Eventually SS arrives and dispatches the monsters. Darkseid decides to reveal SS's past to him in an effort to turn SS against Galactus. The plan works. However Galactus either effortlessly 1. kills/one-shots SS or 2. strips him of the Power Cosmic.

This is the controversial scan (this is also the very next page after the above scanned page) that shows Darkseid using the Omega Effect on Galactus.....but the Omega Effect FAILS to have any success with erasing Galactus from existence:

On the very next page, Galactus stands unphased while DS stands in disbelief. There's no mention that Galactus willed himself back...just shows that at point blank range, the Omega Effect did not succeed. The same can't be said for the Power Cosmic however, as Darkseid is blasted out of Big G's face.

Next, Heavy G revives/resuscitates/re-empowers SS

Orion flees, Darkseid looks hurt.

I know it's not in continuity, but if, like many non - continuity stories, it takes place in an alternate universe, then it can be safely assumed that the 616 Galactus can do this too, since he was stated to be the most powerful Galactus.

From The Last Fantastic Four Story, after asking if he can travel to a place which is "A thousand universes away", he states that "All places in the cosmos are as one to me" and takes them there easily:

I don't think these were in continuity either, but they're still interesting.

Endless Mike those last scans with the Decimators, how was the tribunal that not even Galactuscould help them against (I haven't seen that comic before)

The Decimators were apparently able to defeat the cosmic tribunal because they were mindless and therefore immune to their power.

One of mr. master's scans, from FF #522...here johnny storm has been turned into a herald and has received cosmic awareness as a result. somehow he plays the role of "shrink" to Galactus and realizes what Galactus *really* is....

Yes, that does mean that Galactus is the physical, transformed incarnation of an entire universe, namely, his own universe. Further reason why all the abstracts treat Galactus with mad respect....he's older than ALL of them (cept for LT), and he's the "transformed" version of current Eternity's predecessor.

well i don't think it was posted on here before....and the below feat really needs no explanation.

With a gesture, Galactus creates a being that, more often than not, surpasses the greatest heroes/villains of earth.

Thanos discusses how, when he had the Heart of the Infinite, he could have dispatched Galactus with ease. But without the Heart, Thanos explains that his personal power is "Lilliputian" compared to Galactus' might

More interesting however is Thanos asking Adam Warlock if he can use the Soul Gem against Galactus. Warlock says he can't, because he senses

"no soul within yonder vessel. Galactus most likely has a spirit similar to Eternity's and Infinity's. Beyond the Gem's power.

So there you have it...Galactus is immune to the Infinity Gem that governs the Soul.

Therefore, we can say that in the Infinity Gauntlet affair, Eternity/Infinity and Galactus were technically dispatched by 5 of the 6 gems, as they, by their natures, rendered the soul gem useless. Guess it's more of a feat for the IG, but still interesting nonetheless.

Hold on, granted that Galactus is a heavy hitter. And the Pheonix has grotesque feats (really high, to the bottom of the lows).

However, “What If” quotes or feats should be clearly labeled. And your own statement is somewhat contradicted by the fact that, the Phoenix goes of to destroy the entire universe and everything in the same issue.

I was refering to Galactus interefing to save the omniverse by destroying the alternate earth created by the IM the first comment had nothing to do with Phoenix what so ever.

Also if you like to use alternate realities shall we then take a talk about the black Celestial act shall we 🙂

First I am giving master the credit for the above scans that I posted, then I say the rest I think it is clear that the first part is for the scans above and the next is for the scans below.

It is but as you can see a lot of non-canon has been posted, also all the feats from Galactus from a different reality then the 616 preform so can Galactus from the 616 but to a much greater extent since he is the prime Galactus.

1) however you have to keep in mind that, comment is a tad dubious. In the vary same issue both reference themselves as near equals. That’s the first contradicting part.

2) Would be how the Dark Phoenix Power seem to increase, as she battles on. While Galactus is at a state ware his hunger really could hinder him at any moment. And from the exchange of shots and blows. It was Galactus who was crying out of pain. Second Contradicting part.

3) Evidently the Phoenix goes of to destroy the entire universe and everything in it. Final Contradicting point.

I am a fan of both characters. Both play an important role in the Cosmos. However selecting a pair scan‘s. And leaving out some information, seems to me vary manipulative. More so when issue number, or non cannon material are not clearly labeled.

So for the readers. The scans above come from “What If volume 1, issue 27 - Phoenix Hadn’t Died”.
(do not confuse it with What If volume 2 - Phoenix Hadn’t Died)

I was under the impression that when it was read it was obvious what belonged to what. Apparent it was not so.

Galactus never made a definitive statement,

he said you "your power Fairly rivals my own"

"if you are truly my equal then" ....

In the end though, G also said, "I could eventually destroy you"

Not exactly.

From the very beginning of the fight,
Jean said Galactus could surpass her power:

"Phoenix power grows geometrically as I use it, but it DOES have limits,
and if there's anyone who can exceed them, it's Galactus"

So while Jean may get stronger as she uses her powers, their clearly NOT infinite.

I never saw Galactus cry out or even whisper out pain:

The entire battle between normal Galactus and Jean/Phoenix:

Galactus says,

"Your power FAIRLY rivals my own" (G even offers Jean a job as a Herald)

After Jean destroys G's converter, G gets bored and leaves:

"I could easily rebuild my device, and eventually destroy you"
