i went to see AWE for the second time today.
I took my little brother to see it (more for my benefit than his lol) )🙂
I had a gang of school girls at the back of me that wouldn't shut up, which was quite disturbing because they were really annoying.
BUT i phased them out as soon as johnny came on the screen.
At the end of the film me and my brother walked out of the cinema, and he was wearing a puzzled look on his face.
"Whats up with you, spud?" I asked.
"Nuffink" He replied. But i could tell he was troubled.
"Come on, you can tell me" I told him.
He sighed.
"Im just confused"
I chuckled to myself.
"What about?"
I figured that for an 8 yearold, there was alot of things in the movie to take in.
"The girl" He told me.
My ears pricked up.
"What about her?"
"Well" He started. "In the second one she was inlove with jack, and then in this one she married the other man. I just don't understand why"
I nodded my head.
"Neither do i, mate"
"Jack saved her"
I glanced down at him.
That was a pretty strange remark to come from a young boy.
"When? Do you mean from the ship when Will was getting his heart cut out?"
He shook his head.
"No. He's saved her loads of times. He's the one who taught her how to be a real pirate"
I was truly shocked by his conclusion.
"How do you mean?" I asked him.
"He set her free" He told me. "He's the only man she's ever known that has let her be free"
"So you think they should have been together?" I asked him.
He nodded. "They will be together" He concluded. "She's not free while shes waiting for the other man. Only jack make's her free"
I was all round gobsmacked....
Please dont ask me where his conclusion came from!
I can only guess that in his mind that his conclusion seems to best fit the story.
I kid you not, this is what he told me 🙂
(well...ive added in a few more words because at times he does mess up his sentences...but apart from that lol).
So there you go;
Sometimes DISNEY does get it wrong...
Sometimes it's the pirate that deserves the happy ending 🙂
he used to be my annoying little brother...
Now hes my smart-but -still-annoying-little brother 🙂
i couldnt even believe that it came out of his mouth...
Jack is his hero, and he wants to be just like him. So you know...my little brother obviously wants jack to end with the girl...
i just never realised that kids actually take in so much in a movie...
