Just see how many times Johnny's name happens to be mentioned. These people aren't even fans like we are but still...that's interesting.
I look forward to watching Sweeney Todd in December. I like Johnny acting in dark, sinister, quirky or edgy roles. I wouldn't want him to do a straightforward hero-type role. He seems to like bad boy roles though he ain't one in real life (ok, maybe in the past...did Johnny do cocaine like stupid Kate Moss?)
*shrugs* I don't know but I honestly don't think so. He was pretty honest about the fact that he DID do drugs when he was way younger because of family issues but that he was lucky enough to learn from the experience and stop and never do drugs again. Since he did admit that he used to do drugs I think he would tell people if he used to do drugs when he was with Kate...just IMO
YAAAAAAAY! I can't wait until I see Sweeney Todd. Johnny fits him so perfectly.
The good thing about having a mom he also adores Johnny is that we talk about him on a daily basis and my mom usually doesn't get annoyed like my dad. Just yesterday we discussed a very interesting matter about how Johnny's face always seems to be rather white when he works with Tim...think about it. Edward Scissorhand? White face. Sweeney Todd? white face. Ed wood? white face (but only cause it was black and white I gues) Victor? white face. Ichabod? white face. Willy Wonka? whit face.

LOL just joking. Yeah...I'd really love to see Johnny as Sweeney...swinging those razors at people's throats. All angry and upset about his wife and daughter and vowing revenge on soceity. Isn't that the kind of man you always dreamed of? lol
Hm...I hadn't thought about the white face, but you're right. I suppose its because Burton wants his characters to be different from their surroundings, from other people, from society. They're supposed to be loners - do you think this is right? I haven't seen all those movies, so I'm not sure if my idea fits all the roles!
As far as drugs go, I think Johnny cleaned up his act when he got with Vanessa and had Lily. That was a *major* turning point in his life, and I think he wanted to get his life together.
I really wish Sweeney Todd wasn't rated R, then I could go see it. I'm super squeamish about violence and gore 🙁 Hopefully, somebody will post parts of it on youtube or something .
Tee, you are so lucky to have a mom that is a big Johnny fan too! My mom and I talk about it sometimes, but not too much. Mostly I vent my Johnny droolings with my pals here on KMC *hugs* 😄

Yeah I wish Sweeney wasn't rathed R too...not cause I'm squeamish but now I have to go see it with my parents instead of my friends (rolls eyes) or get a fake ID or something...joking! joking!
Yeah I feel that about Tim too...even his nightmare after christmas was quirky and different and he really wants to mix the idea of an 'every day guy thrust in an adventure' with a 'loner and outcast' which is always a fun way of going about things.
Johnny and Tim? Sweeney can't be anything short of fantastic.
I dream about the movie with Johnny, where he would look like Sands (with eyes of course 😄) He's so hot there, especially during the scene when he drives and smokes... irresistible. He could be a real bad boy too, breaking hearts of girls, shooting to everyone etc. and I would like to see a happy ending for that kind of character 😄 no punishment for his bad habits 😄
You know, too many of his characters have no happy end *SPOILER* ( Edward Scissorhands - alone, Dead Man - he's killed, The Brave - he's killed, The Astronaut's Wife - he's killed, The Man Who Cried - probably he's killed, From Hell - he dies, Once Upon a Time in Mexico - let's say he ends with glasses, The Libertine - he dies, Finding Neverland - alone, our sweet Jack - alone) Did I forget about something?
Does anyone know what happens to his character in Blow?
Now, I'm not sure if I'll like the ending of Sweeney, maybe I should leave before the movie ends? 😄 I hate bad endings. 🙁

I think George (Blow) probably died in prison. Perfectly sad...something Johnny would definitely play.
The thing is I really want Johnny to play in a happy movie (bad boy gets the girl and all) but I love him because he chooses the quirky unusual roles/movies over the typical...I wouldn't want to see him give that up

I would not want him to give that up too 😉 Unusual roles makes him special. I just want one movie with him, when a bad guy has his happy end and it doesn't even have to mean that he gets a girl, he can get money or something 😉

Ya u forgot in Sleepy Hollow he gets the girl too....in Platoon doesnt he die or gets badly injured, i forgot!! Also in Charlie and the Chocolate factory he rekindles with his daddy and has a sense of family with Charlie's family...in Chocolat he has a happy ending too he come back to the girl!! lol
In Blow.... George (Johnny) stays in prison alone no one not even his daughter ever went to go visit him, all he stays with is the hallucination that his daughter will one day visit him!! Its sad I cried!!
i guess he balances it out!! lol

I know blow was so sad 🙁 i don't know why but i just get attached to his characters...each one has a different meaning to me. or maybe i'm just weird LOL really looking forward to sweeny todd to! i remember reading about it in history classes at school and finding it so fascinating but yet creepy, so now that johnny has made a film about it...i don't know it just makes me smile 🙂 i love johnny!!

lol no you're not weird, i totally get what you're saying. each character is amazing in it's own way giving a meaning to the audience, and you can't help but to get attached the the character. sweeny todd sounds really interesting, i'm very excited as well. although doesn't it come out on Christmas? doubt my parents would let me see it then...
